Add Past Medical, Family and Social History in Brief Assessment

All of the grids available through the navigation pane on the Histories Summary panel share data and copy forward to the next encounter for the current patient.

  1. In the History Summary panel, to indicate what detailed history information prints in the generated document, click the History Review button to open the Histories template.
  2. If there is no relevant history, select No relevant past medical/surgical history.
  3. Click the Confidential link to record private information provided by the patient during the course of encounter.
The grid defaults to the Past Medical/Surgical view (indicated by the black arrow icon in the navigation pane).
  4. To filter the past history records in the grid, select Medical History or Surgical History.
By default, the Show All check box is selected.
  5. Click the Add button to enter data on the Past Medical History template.
  6. To enter family history information, click Family in the left pane and click Add.
  7. Click Social to change the grid view.
The left pane includes a list of social-related items.
  8. Click any selection to view previously documented data in the grid.
  9. To enter new information, click the Add button.
The Social History template opens on the selected item.

You can navigate through the areas in the left pane on the template or close the template to make another social selection from the Histories panel.

  10. Click the Back button in the left pane to return to the three main options available on the panel.
