Documenting the Estimated Date of Delivery Panel

You can document information in the Estimate Date of Delivery panel. When you open the Gestational Age template, you can view the expanded Estimated Date of Delivery panel appears. Estimated Date of Delivery If a last menstrual period was entered on the Vital Signs template, that last menstrual period (LMP) must display in the LMP Date field. Note: This only happens if the intake staff goes from the Intake template to the Gestational Age template. If they open another template in between, it does not automatically fill the LMP on the Gestational Age template. Therefore, even if the intake staff is not editing any information on Gestational Age, the template must be opened after opening Intake to obtain the LMP from vital signs. Document the Last Menstrual Period You can document the last menstrual period in the Estimated Date of Delivery panel. EDD Edit Log Template

You can enter and edit information in the EDD Edit Log template. The EDD Edit Log panel helps you view the edit log and audit details of Estimated Date of Delivery (EDD). Your first EDD entry for a patient is not displayed on the EDD Edit Log panel until you view the same on the Retired EDD Log panel. However, the subsequent updates that either you or any another user makes on the Estimated Date of Delivery panel for the same patient is displayed on the EDD Edit Log panel automatically. Document General UDS Reporting

You can document information in the General (UDS Reporting) panel. The General (UDS Reporting) panel allows you to collect the first prenatal and multiple gestation information. Open the Gestational Age-Obstetrics template. Expand the General (UDS Reporting) panel, if you are required, or if you require, to collect this information. Select the First, Second, or Third option from the First prenatal visit trimester section.This indicates which trimester the patient initially presented for prenatal care, even if the patient did not present to your practice first. Select the first prenatal visit date from the First prenatal visit field. Select the Here option or Elsewhere option to specify where the first prenatal visit was performed. Select an option in the Multiple gestation section to indicate whether this pregnancy is a singleton pregnancy or not. Gestational Age Template

You can document the gestational age to determine the Estimated Date of Delivery (EDD). The Gestational Age panel allows you to document the necessary information about gestational age so that it is possible to determine the Estimated Date of Delivery (EDD). Note: NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine calculates the EGA (Estimated Gestational Age) based on the LMP date provided in the Gestational Age template . The gestational age for each encounter recalculates automatically and fills in the appropriate templates. The system recalculates the gestational age after each encounter and fills in the appropriate template. Note: The OB Gestational Orders template is integrated in the NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine workflow. You can open the OB Gestational Orders template from Prenatal Detail > Order Labs > OBGYN Lab Master > Labs > Orders by Gestational Week. Obstetrics Histories Template

You can document information in the OB Histories template. The Histories template contains nine panels: Pregnancy History Gravidity/Parity Since Last Menstrual Period Medical/Infection History Medical/Surgical/Interim General Family Social Genetic Screening/Teratology Counseling The Histories template displays gravidity/parity, initial/working EDD, working EGA, blood type and Rh, and risk level as in Gestational Age template. After a complete history is taken, use the Risk Factors link to document the risk level. Note: When documenting risk factors, the practice may decide to only indicate the positive items rather than select negative for all of the remaining items. In addition, putting the actual risk level must be done by the provider. This may be done on this template or on the Prenatal Detail template. You can view the Obstetrics fields in the Obstetrics (OB) patient header. You can view the following data in the OB Patient Header: Gravidity, Parity (G/P/T/P/A/L): Filled from the Histories template. Initial/Working EDD: Filled from the Gestational Age template. Working EGA: Filled from the Gestational Age template. Blood Type and Rh: Filled from the Lab Orders template. Risk Level: Filled from the OB Risk Factors template.
