Generate Intake Note

You can generate the intake note for a patient using Generate Intake Note on the Intake template. Before you begin You must complete all the intake activities before generating the intake note. You can generate the intake note as a written summary of the encounter from the intake staff or medical assistant. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Intake template. Select Generate Intake Note.The system generates the intake note. Intake Staff Workflow

During check-in, you can document the patient's details such as the chief complaint, vital signs, medications, allergies, standing orders, and various other findings. The intake staff workflow involves documenting the patient encounter on the Intake and Histories templates. The information documented by the intake staff is used by the provider for reference and to proceed with the encounter. Intake Panel Description General You can document the patient's general information. Medications You can view the current medications and medication history of the patient. You can also enter additional prescriptions and reconcile the listed medications with the actual active medications. Reason for Visit You can document the reasons for the patient's visit. Start a Dermatology Encounter

The intake staff begins the encounter starting on the Intake template. Create a patient encounter and open the Intake template. Select the Specialty as Dermatology and Visit Type as Office Visit. Select Established patient or New patient as appropriate. In the General panel, click the Historian field and select the historian from the resulting list. Click Save on the Top Toolbar. Document Urology Patient Encounters

You can use the various templates in NextGen Adaptive Content Engine to document the encounter details of a urology patient. The Urology User Guide for NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine is intended for Urology medical professionals, such as providers, nurses, and front office staff, responsible for documenting and processing patient information. You can use NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine to document patient encounters in the Urology specialty. The Urology office and virtual visit workflows are documented on the following templates. View Status and Location of Patients

You can view the status and location of a patient. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. On the Patient Information Card, select the Patient Tracking button. Note: Patient Tracking is available only when the patient has an active encounter dated Today. For all other encounters, the Patient Tracking button appears as New Encounter. The Todays Patient Tracking template opens. Select EHR Appointments.The Patient Appointments template opens. Note: The When, Provider, and Location fields contain the current date and time, provider name, and practice location. In the View section, select By Provider to turn on the Add and Search buttons. Enter the details for Room, Reason, and Status. Note: Patient tracking is optional. The intake staff can proceed with the workflow without documenting the appointment details. Open a Template

In NextGen Care® Population Management Hub, to view the patients list, do one of the following: From the Cohorts tab, run a report. From the My Lists tab, run a list. From the Appointment Book tab, filter the patients. The patient list appears in the patient grid. In the patient grid, select the check box to the left of the patient's name. From Chart, select EHR Chart. A list appears displaying up to ten favorite templates. Do one of the following: To open a template with an existing unlocked encounter, select an encounter from the required template. To open a template with a new encounter, select the template name, and then select Yes to create a new encounter. Note: For NextGen® Enterprise EHR version 5.9 or earlier, you cannot select an encounter from NextGen Care® Population Management Hub.
