Remove/Inactivate an Existing Orderable Guideline Item

You can remove an orderable test item of a patient on the Care Guideline Setup template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From File, select System \ Practice Template.The Select Template window opens. On the Practice tab, select the All option. Select Care Guideline Setup, and then select OK.The Care Guideline Setup practice template opens. Expand the Intervention/Orders Setup panel, select the guideline or test item from the grid.Details for the guideline or test item appear in the fields above the grid. Select Remove.The guideline or test item no longer appears in the grid as active for the selected Reason type. Update an Orderable Guideline Test Items

You can update an orderable test item of a patient using the Care Guideline Setup template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From File, select System \ Practice Template.The Select Template window opens. On the Practice tab, select the All option. Select Care Guideline Setup, and then select OK.The Care Guideline Setup practice template opens. Expand the Intervention/Orders Setup panel and then select the guideline or test item from the Orderable Tests Setup data grid.Details for the guideline or test item appear in the fields above the grid. These values can be modified. Note: If you select a different value for Reason type, all fields are reset. In Condition/Reason, select any from the list. Setting Up Orderable Follow-Up Guideline Items

You can define second-tier (follow-up) guidelines that automatically apply to a patient's active guidelines using the Intervention/Orders Setup panel. The Intervention/Orders Setup panel allow you to create multiple follow-up (second-tier) guidelines for a care guideline item to ensure complete patient care. Note: When you set up a follow-up guideline, include the follow-up in the test name. For example, depression follow-up. When you select or set up a follow-up guideline item in the Intervention/Orders Setup panel, the Follow-Up to field appears with the corresponding first-tier guideline test name. By default, the Orders checkbox is selected. When you select the Orders link, the Follow-Up Guideline window opens. Figure 1. Setting Up Intervention Tests Orders

You can set up the orderable test on the Care Guidelines Setup template. You can define the orderable tests (formerly protocols) for a guideline in the Orderable Tests Setup panel on the Care Guidelines Setup practice template. Initially, the grid displays all orderable tests for all guidelines in the system. You can select a condition or reason from the Condition/Reason field and filter the grid so that it only displays the orderable tests that are part of that guideline. Orderable Tests Setup CAUTION: Changes made to guideline items in the Orderable Tests Setup panel impact all patients. Changes made at a patient level only impact that specific patient. Patient level changes are made on the Care Guideline Update template. View Removed (Inactive) Guidelines

You can view removed guideline for a patient on the Care Guideline Setup template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. On the Care Guidelines Setup template, expand the Define Guideline Reasons & Auto Application panel. Select the Show only Removed/Inactive checkbox to display all guidelines that are removed and are not inactive. You can view an inactive description of an equivalent or a test for a patient's guideline. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From File, select System \ Practice Template.The Select Template window opens. On the Practice tab, select the All option. Select Care Guideline Setup, and then select OK. The Care Guideline Setup practice template opens. Expand the Interventions/Test Equivalents Codes/Descriptions panel and select the Show only Removed/Inactive checkbox corresponding to the appropriate grid.The removed or inactive intervention description equivalents are displayed.
