Access Dermatology

Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select a patient or create a patient encounter. To open the Templates module on a patient encounter, do one of the following: On the Categories or Encounter History tab, select Open Template. On Top Toolbar, select Templates. On the main menu, select File > New > Template. The Select Template window opens. Select Home Page - Dermatology, and then click OK.The Home Page Dermatology template opens. To review the page, select the Visit Type. From the navigation bar at the top of the Home Page - Dermatology template, you can access the Dermatology framework templates like Intake, Histories, GET, SOAP, Finalize, and Checkout. Review of Dermatology Details by Providers

Review the details documented by the intake staff to determine if any update is required. The information documented by the nursing staff on the Intake template is reflected on the Home Page template for your review. You can update the information on the Intake GET and SOAP templates. NextGen Healthcare recommends that providers begin the visit by reviewing the patient details on the Home Page - Dermatology template. Skin Cancer History Log You can update skin cancer history from the Home page - Dermatology template or Histories - Dermatology template. The Intake Staff's Review of the Allergies Summary

On the Home Page - Allergy template, the intake staff can review the patient history documented in previous encounters. The patient details documented by the intake staff on the Intake and Histories templates appear on the Home Page - Allergy template for the provider's review. Review of Orthopedic Details by Intake Staff

The intake staff begins the current encounter on the Intake template. They can review the patient details documented during the previous encounters on the Home Page - ORT template. The Home Page - ORT template displays the information documented by the intake staff on the Intake and Histories templates for the provider's review. Reviewing Patient Summary

On the Home Page - Cardiology template, the intake staff can review the patient's historical information, care guidelines, and global days information documented during the previous encounters. The information documented by the intake staff on the Intake and Histories templates is reflected on the Home Page - Cardiology template for the provider's review. Start a Dermatology Encounter

The intake staff begins the encounter starting on the Intake template. Create a patient encounter and open the Intake template. Select the Specialty as Dermatology and Visit Type as Office Visit. Select Established patient or New patient as appropriate. In the General panel, click the Historian field and select the historian from the resulting list. Click Save on the Top Toolbar.
