Filter Selected Guidelines in the Active Guidelines Grid

You can filter selected active care guidelines of a patient in the Active Guidelines panel. There are several ways to filter and display only selected guidelines in the Active Guidelines panel grid. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select the Care Guidelines link on any of the main template.The Care Guidelines template opens. Select Add/Update in the Care Guidelines panel.The Activate Care Guidelines template opens. In the Active Guidelines panel, to display only items due within a specific time period, select the Due within checkbox and then select the number of days, weeks, or months from the Show only items due within window. Activate Guidelines To display items for a selected guideline: Select the Display only selected guideline checkbox. Select the Condition from the list. Note: The grid do not display any items of a selected guideline that has not been activated for the patient. Activate Care Guideline

You can activate a care guideline for a patient on the Activate Care Guidelines template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select the Care Guidelines link on any of the main templates. The Care Guidelines template opens. Select Add/Update in the Care Guidelines panel. The Activate Care Guidelines template opens. Activate Care Guidelines Select Condition in the Active Guidelines panel. A list of all pre-configured care guidelines appears. Activate Care Guidelines Select the condition in the list, and select OK. Select Health Maintenance to open the gender-specific Risk template. Risk Male Select all risk factors for the patient and corresponding diagnoses, and then select Save & Close. If the patient does not have any risk indicators, select the No risk indicators checkbox. Note: Health maintenance is the only guideline that does not require you to associate a diagnosis with it. Activating a Care Guideline

You can activate a care guideline for a patient on the Activate Care Guidelines template. You must activate a patient's care guideline for health maintenance or a disease condition before you use the care guidelines for the patient. You can activate guidelines in the Active Guidelines panel on the Activate Care Guidelines template. An application message appears if you want to re-apply an already activated guideline. You can re-apply a guideline if certain items within the guideline are not being followed and you need to add them now. Note: When you re-apply a guideline, the application checks through all of the guideline items that are already active, and applies those items in the set that are missing. If there is a test found in more than one guideline activated for the patient, only one test will be maintained. The application calculates the Due Date for that test based on the settings found for the earliest start age, the latest stop age, and the shortest interval of the activated

Restore a Guideline Item

You can restore a care guideline item for a patient using the Remove/Restore Guidelines panel. You can restore a care guideline or guideline item removed previously, so that it can be followed for a patient. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select the Care Guidelines link on any of the main template. The Care Guidelines template opens. Select Add/Update in the Care Guidelines panel. The Activate Care Guidelines template opens. In the Activate Guidelines panel, select the Conditionfrom the list. Select Add to activate it again. This re-applies the guideline. Select Save & Close. Note: When you re-apply a guideline, the application goes through all of the existing items that are active, and only re-applies the one that is missing from the set for the condition. Display Specific Active Guideline Item for a Patient

You can filter display items for a specific guideline that is active for a patient. You can filter what appears in the Care Guidelines panel to display only those items that are part of a specific guideline which is active for the patient. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select the Care Guidelines link on any of the main template.The Care Guidelines Paged View template opens. Expand the Care Guidelines panel. To display only those item that is part of a specific guideline which is active for the patient, do one of the following: Select the link for guideline of interest in the left pane. Select the Show All link to display all guideline items active for the patient. The Care Guidelines panel refreshes to display only those items that are part of the selected guideline. Activate the Care Guideline You Want to Follow for the Patient

You can add care guideline details for a patient record using the Care Guidelines panel. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Care Guidelines template. In the Care Guidelines panel, select Add/Update.The Activate Care Guidelines template opens. In the Active Guidelines panel, select the Condition field.A list of all pre-configured Care Guidelines appears. Select the pre-configured condition in the list and select OK. If applicable, select the Diagnosis field to select a diagnosis in the diagnosis search window.The Diagnosis field is used to associate a diagnosis with an ICD code (used for billing) to the guideline. The selected diagnosis appears in the Diagnosis field and the associated code appears in the Code field. Select Add.The guideline activates, and items that are associated with it appear in the grid on the Active Guidelines panel.
