Save the Documented Assessment Details

After you have completed documenting the patient's plan and associated details, there are different options for proceeding with the encounter. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. To document another assessment plan when you are still in the Assessment/Plan Details template, select a different diagnosis from the grid in Today's Assessment. To document any other data, select one of the following: The Save & Close button Any of the other tabs in the My Plan template set The Cancel button - if there is unsaved data, a confirmation alert appears: You have unsaved data, do you want to exit without saving?My Custom Plan Parent topic: Add or Update Assessment Template Parent topic: Open the Assessments Tab Parent topic: Document an Assessment Plan Parent topic: Enter Assessment Plan Details

Open the Assessment Plan Details Template

Some specialties (for example, Cardiology) open the Assessment Plan Details template differently. Refer to the specialty guide for your version of NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine available on NextGen Healthcare Success Community for instructions if the following does not apply: Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. On the SOAP template, in Assessment/Plan, select A/P Details.The Assessment Plan Details template opens. Generate a Consent Note

You can generate a consent note. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the SOAP template. In the Assessment / Plan panel, select Consent.The Consent - Procedures template opens. Enter values in the fields such as Provider name, Consent by, Type of procedure, and Procedure date. Enter comments as required in the Comments field. To generate the consent note with the details documented in the Consent - Procedures template, select the Consent button in the Assessment / Plan panel. Edit Patient Education Documents

The Patient Education grid in the Today's Orders panel displays the patient education documents that are added to a patient encounter. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Checkout template. Expand the Today’s Orders panel. Select Patient Education To edit patient education documents, select Patient Education. The Patient Education Browser window opens. Note: You can use the browser to add or edit the list of patient education documents. Issuing Patient Education Documents

The Patient Education panel contains the education documents of a patient that are added to the patient's chart. You can print education documents for a patient by printing them or send the documents to the patient's NextGen® PxP Portal account. When you save a patient education document to an encounter, NextGen® Enterprise EHR moves the document to the Patient Education grid in the Today’s Order panel.
