Document Patient Information Before a Visit

You can document patient information for an appointment before the actual visit. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. To open the Select Template window, select File > System \ Practice Template. Select the Practice tab, select All, and then select Pre Encounter Documentation from the list.The Pre Encounter Documentation template opens. Note: Appointments from NextGen® Enterprise PM with the KEPT and BOOKED statuses appear in the Pre Encounter Documentation template. Optional: Filter the appointments in the grid by location and other options. Note: To add information to completed appointments, you must open the respective patient chart and make the necessary changes. Optional: To view the records in the grid and prevent the Pre Encounter SOAP window from opening when you select a record, select Row Select Opens Chart. Open the Pre Visit Planning Template

Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. For Medical Records, select All. Scroll down and do one of the following: Double-click Pre Visit Planning. Select Pre Visit Planning and click OK. The Pre Visit Planning template opens. Filtering Pre Visit Planning Information You can filter the details on the Pre Visit Planning template, to quickly get the desired information. Pre Visit Planning

You can use the Pre Visit Planning template to review the summary of a patient's chart and take the appropriate steps to be prepared for an upcoming visit. The details in the Pre Visit Planning template are updated with the data from various templates to provide an overall preview of the patient's records before a patient's appointment. The information in this template is maintained by the clinical staff and used by the providers. You can use the Pre Visit Planning template to review a patient's chart and take appropriate steps to be prepared for an upcoming patient visit. Pre Visit Planning The Pre Visit Planning template enables clinical staff to handle administrative tasks before a patient's appointment. Managing Patient Care Guidelines You can manage the patient care guidelines and track the administrative tasks on the Work List panel. Reviewing Assessment and Plan History You can review the assessment and plan details of a patient during a visit. Bookmarking Documents and Images You can bookmark a patient's documents and images for quick reference. Viewing Communication Details On the Pre Visit Planning template, you can view a patient's communication details like phone calls, appointments, and outstanding tasks. Reviewing Patient's Education Documents

When you save an education document for a patient encounter, the document appears in the Patient Education grid in the Today’s Orders panel on the Pre Visit Planning template. During a pre-visit review, you can issue these documents to the patient by printing them or sending them to NextGen® PxP Portal. Manage and Configure Pre-Visit Details

During an encounter, the Pre Visit Planning template enables the clinical staff and provider to review the summary of the patient's chart and take necessary actions to prepare for an upcoming visit. The template also documents administrative tasks that need to be accomplished before a patient's appointment so that the provider can focus on addressing the patient's health needs during the visit. Pre Visit Planning The Work List panel addresses guideline or care plan items associated with the patient that can be added to the work list to be tracked. The Other section in the Work List panel includes a list of items (with check boxes) to track important details and actions related to the patient care. The Other section includes ten work list options that are shipped with NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine . You can also add up to five new options directly on the template in run time.
