Open the SBIRT Screening Template

You can open the SBIRT Screening template from the Screening Tools template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. In the navigation bar, select Screening Tools. The Screening Tools template opens. In the Screening Tools Available section, select Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT). The SBIRT Screening template opens. Document SBIRT Screening

You can document SBIRT screening information to analyze a patient's need for intervention or for referral to treatment. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. In the navigation bar, select Screening Tools. The Screening Tools template opens. In the Screening Tools Available section, select Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT). The SBIRT Screening template opens. Manage Practice Defined Pre-Screening Questions and Responses

Open the SBIRT Pre-Screening Questions template. To update a question, select and then edit the question, and then select Update. To update a response, select the question and its response, then update the response, and then select Update. To delete a question, select the question and then select Remove. To delete a response, select the question and then its response, and then select Remove. To view any modified questions and responses, open the SBIRT Screening template, open the Practice Defined Pre-Screening Questions panel, and then select Clear for Add. Configure Practice Defined Pre-Screening Questions

You can configure questions that appear in the Practice Defined Pre-screening Questions panel on the SBIRT Pre-Screening Questions template. Open the SBIRT Pre-Screening Questions template. SBIRT Pre-Screening Questions Enter a question, and then select Add.The added question appears in the grid in the Question # section. Note: You can add a maximum of four questions. Select a question, enter a response, and then select Add.The response is added and appears in the Response grid. Note: You can add multiple responses for each question. Select Save & Close.The questions and their responses appear in the Practice Defined Pre-Screening Questions panel on the SBIRT Screening template. Analyzing Patient Intervention or Referral to Treatment Needs

You can decide if a patient needs intervention or a referral to treatment using the Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) screening tool. You can document details to analyze a patient's need for an intervention or for a referral to treatment in the following panels on the SBIRT Screening template: Pre-Screening Questions Practice Defined Pre-Screening Questions Screening Brief Intervention Referral to Treatment SBIRT Billing You can configure the location from where you want to access the SBIRT Screening template link. Add Items to the Screening Questions Custom DB Picklist

You can add the screening questions in the Custom DB Picklists. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Custom DB Picklists system template. From the first grid, select the Screening_questions. In the Step 2 Add/Edit List Items section, select the Show selected DBPicklist (above) option. The Add/Edit List Items grid displays items found in the DB picklist. Select the Add New List Item link above the Step 2 Add/Edit List Items grid. Step 2 Add/Edit List Item Select a DB picklist name screening_questions from the list that opens and select OK. Use the edit fields below the Add/Edit List Items grid to create the item. A list of required fields and the information they contain can be found in the screening questions DB picklist required fields. Select Add to add the item to the DB picklist.
