Obtaining Test or Code Information for a Documented Screening on the Screening Tools Template

You can obtain the test or code information for a documented screenings to satisfy a care guideline. The screenings that are documented on the Screening Tools template grid is uploaded to the order_ table. So in most cases, these can be mapped to care guidelines. The mapped screening items do not use codes, instead they use the description of the screening to complete the guideline, so it is important to make sure the spelling is correct in these instances. The guideline type needs to match exactly (MPROT = Screening), therefore some guidelines may not complete with this setup. For example, trying to use a screening to satisfy a lab-based guideline does not work correctly. Document Information with Template Screening Tools

You can document information in the screening tools that open as templates using the Screening Tools template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select a patient encounter, and open a template. For example, Intake. Select Navigation, and then select Screening Tools. The Screening Tools template opens. To view the screening tools, do one of the following: To view the screening tools configured for the selected specialty, select Current Specialty. To view all the screening tools, select All. Note: When you do not select a specialty for an encounter, the All option is selected by default and all the screening tools appear on the Screening Tools template. In the Screening Tools Available panel, select a screening tool with the T indicator. The associated screening tool template opens. Document details provided by the patient. Document Information with Other Screening Tools

You can document information using other screening tools that are not configured to open as websites or templates using the Screening Tools template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select a patient encounter, and open a template. For example, Intake. Select Navigation, and then select Screening Tools. The Screening Tools template opens. To view the screening tools, do one of the following: To view the screening tools configured for the selected specialty, select Current Specialty. To view all the screening tools, select All. You can document information in the screening tools that open as websites using the Screening Tools template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select a patient encounter, and open a template. Configure Screening Tools

You can configure a screening tool by using the Screening Tools Log data set. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From File, select System \ Practice Template.The Select Template window opens. On the Practice tab, select the All option. In the Show section, select All. Select Data Sets Setup, and then select OK. From the Data Sets Setup template, open the Screening Tools Log Configuration template. Enter the screening tool name, select Type, and then do one of the following: To link a template, select the Template option, and then select a template from Launch To. To link a website, select the Web Page option, and then enter a URL in Launch To. To select a specialty, do one of the following: To configure a screening tool for all specialties, retain the default selection, All. To configure a screening tool for the required specialties, select Custom, and then select the specialties from the specialty selection window. Map the Test or Code Information on the Care Guidelines Setup Practice Template

You can map the test or code information using the Care Guidelines Setup practice template. Practices can map test codes and descriptions to guidelines on the Interventions/Test Equivalent Codes/Descriptions panel of the Care Guidelines Setup practice template. You can specify items as exact equivalents and make items orderable on the Care Guidelines Paged View and the Care Guidelines grid view templates. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From File, select System \ Practice Template.The Select Template window opens. On the Practice tab, select the All option. Select Care Guideline Setup, and then select OK.The Care Guideline Setup practice template opens. Expand the Interventions/Test Equivalent Codes/Descriptions panel. Select the test name to be mapped from the list. Add the test information in the Intervention Equivalents. Optional: To make the test available to order when selecting the guideline from the Care Guidelines template, select the Orderable checkbox. Save and close the templa
