Update a Referral
Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select to highlight the referral on the Referral History grid that you want to update. Select Edit.The Referrals – Orders template appears. Referrals Order Update the template with the new information. Select Save.You are returned to the Care Coordination Home Page with the entry for the referral updated in the Referral History grid. Remove a Referral
Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select to highlight the referral on the Referral History panel that you want to remove. Select Remove.You are prompted to confirm the delete. Add Referrals
You can document a referral to a specialty, obstetrics, and therapy for a patient in the Referrals Order template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open a patient's record, and then open an encounter. To open the Referrals Order template, do one of the following: On the Intake template, in the Orders section, select Referrals from the list, then select Add. On the SOAP template, in the Assessment/Plan section, select Referrals from the list. On the Care Coordination Home template, in the Referral History section, select Add. Select the Referrals tab. The Referrals Order template opens. You can select the information icon to learn more about the Referrals Order template. On the Referrals tab, select the insurance provider. Enter the insurance policy number, and then select the referral type. Select the diagnosis from the list. Note: You must select at least one diagnosis for the referral. Generate Documents
You can search for and generate a document for a patient encounter. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From Top Toolbar, select the Documents icon.The Generate Document window opens. Select the document you want to generate, and select Generate. Parent topic: Generate Information from Document Library

Generate a Note
Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. On the Objective tab, navigate to the Documents and Printing panel. Click the Generate Note button.A list of available documents appears. Document Internal Referrals
You can create internal referrals from one department or team to another using the Referral Management template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open a patient's record, and then open an encounter. Open the Intake template, select the specialty as Family Practice and the visit type as Office Visit, and then select My Plan. The My Plan window opens. Select the Referrals tab.The Referral Management template opens. Select Internal Referral from the To section.The NG Share option disappears, and the Internal Referral checkbox is selected automatically for quality reporting purposes. In Specialty/Therapy/DME, select a specialty, if applicable. Optional: Select a program. Note: The Program field is available if the Enable Referral Program checkbox is selected in the Practice Configuration template in the Orders/Plans > Referral Program section. Select a diagnosis.
