The tuberculin skin test is a common method to determine tuberculosis. This test determines whether a person has been infected with Mycobacterium tuberculosis by measuring the body's immune response to tuberculosis has been stimulated.
 
 
  - Open Intake - Dermatology template.
 
  - Expand the Orders panel and click Tuberculin Skin Test.
   
    The Tuberculin Skin Test template opens.
   
 
  - In the Risk assessment section, document the BCG immunization and country of origin details.
 
  - To document additional details on the risk assessment, click TB Risk Assessment.
 
  - Select an appropriate diagnosis from the Today's Assessment grid or add an assessment.
   
    - To add an assessment, click Add Tuberculin Skin Test Assessment.
 
    - Select the appropriate diagnosis from the resulting window.
     
      The selected diagnosis is added to Today's Assessment grid.
     
 
   
 
  - In the Orders section, do the following: 
   
    - Select the type of order. 
 
    - Fill in the details in the appropriate fields.
 
    - Click Place Order.
     
      If you have selectedPPD as the type of order, then the order is placed and available in the Tuberculin Skin Test grid. If you have selectedChest X-ray as the type of order, then the order is placed and available in the Chest X-rays grid.
     
 
   
 
  - In the Plan section, select the appropriate check boxes regarding when the patient returns for examination.
   
    Important: The skin test reaction should be read within 48 to 72 hrs.
    
 
     
  - Click Place Order.
   
    The order is placed on the Order Management template.
