Schedule a Surgery for Orthopedics

From the navigation bar, click the Surgery Scheduling link.The Ort Surgery Scheduling template opens. Ort Surgery Scheduling template To specify the facility, do one of the following: Click the Facility field and select a value from the picklist. Click the top blank row in the picklist and type a value in the field. Click the Surgeon field and select a surgeon to place the orders for surgery. To specify the assistant, do one of the following: Click the Assistant field and select a value from the picklist. Click the top blank row in the picklist and type a value in the field. Select any of the following option to indicate the surgery type: Inpatient Outpatient Observation In the Consents section, enter the required details. In the Procedure section, Click the first text box and select a diagnosis from the picklist. The second text box is filled with diagnosis code. Click the third text box to access the Select Procedure window. Search for and select an appropriate procedure. Click OK. T

Orthopedic Pre-Op Visits

After documenting the fracture, casting, and strapping details, if the patient has to undergo surgery, physicians can document the pre-operative details in the Preop Visit template. The Preop Visit template enables physicians to record the health condition and recommend any tests or refer to any other doctor to make sure that the patient condition is stable before surgery. Document Pre-Operative Visit Details

You can document the details and recommend any test for a patient before surgery. On the Preop Visit template, you can record the health condition and recommend any test for a patient. You can refer to other doctors to make sure that the patient's condition is stable before the surgery. In the left Navigation bar, select Pre Op Visit.The Preop visit template opens displaying the assessment, orders, medication, and allergies details documented on the Intake and SOAP templates. Preop Visit To enter the surgery details, select Schedule Procedures.The Surgery Orders grid displays the details of the scheduled surgery. In the Consents section, do the following: Select the appropriate option after explaining the procedure details to the patient. Select Risk detail, and select the relevant pre-operative risks. You can use the NB Preop v5 template to document the details of the pre-operative visit for the surgery, which is scheduled using the Surgery Sched template. Document Patient History for Pre-Operative Visits

You can document patient history such as surgery information, medications, allergies, and medical and surgical histories for pre-operative visits. On the NB Preop v5 template, in the History panel, click the Get button. History panel on the NB Preop V5 template The surgery window opens displaying all surgery encounters with planned procedures for the patient. Select an encounter from the surgery window, and click OK. The following details from the selected encounter are automatically filled in the corresponding fields. The options in the Pre-Surgical Checklist section are automatically updated from the Surgery Sched template on the selected encounter.
