If your practice provides treatment for substance use disorder, you must include the long form or short form of disclosure for Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) 42 CFR Part 2 provisions in the documents and reports that you generate. You need to set up the Record contains substance use disorder information option on encounter-level templates by selecting the long form or short form of disclosure on the Practice Configuration practice template. You can modify this workflow to meet your own specific needs. In addition, your office staff can be organized differently and their duties may be defined differently. Documenting Patient Encounters for Dermatology Visits

The Dermatology User Guide for NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine provides the guidelines for conducting a comprehensive patient encounter in the dermatology specialty. During dermatology patient encounters, you can use various features that are designed to streamline your workflows and improve your data captures. The intake staff checks in the patient on the Intake and Histories templates. If required, the intake staff can review the patient's details documented in the previous encounters on the Home Page template. The provider can choose to review the patient's historical information documented in the previous encounters on the Home Page template or review theIntake Notedocument generated by the intake staff. Review of Dermatology Details by Providers You can start the visit by reviewing the patient information documented during the previous encounters.
