Set Up User Security Groups

You can set up user security groups for cardiology templates using the System Setup Preferences system template. Setting up user security groups is a one-time setup applied before using the templates for the first time. If you are already running earlier versions and have set up security groups, you do not need to repeat this procedure. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open System \ Practice Template On the System tab, double-click System Setup Preferences. In the Cardiology section, click the Enterprise field. System Setup Preferences The CARD Udp Practices window appears. From the CARD Udp Practices list, select an enterprise and click OK. The associated practice appears in Practice. Click Create groups. Virtual Visits

Cardiology practices can bill for telehealth visits on the Finalize - Cardiology template using Virtual Visit as the visit type. Each practice must add the codes associated with the Virtual Visit visit type to the Service Items Library and the Card Visit Level service categories to bill for telehealth visits. Add Virtual Visit Codes to Service Item Library You must add codes associated with the Virtual Visit visit type to the Service Item Library to bill for telehealth visits on the Finalize - Cardiology template. Add Virtual Visit Service Items to Service Categories You must add the Virtual Visit codes to the Card Visit Level service category to bill for telehealth visits, and to see the codes on the CARD Setup Visit Types practice template. Modify E&M Coding Criteria

You can modify the evaluation and management coding criteria of a Cardiology visit type from the EM CODING CRITERIA section on the Card Setup Visit Types template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. In System \ Practice Template, open the Card Setup Visit Types template. From the EM CODING CRITERIA section, select a record for the visit type you want to update. The information from the selected record appears in the corresponding fields above the grid, and the Update and Delete buttons appear. To update the E&M coding criteria, edit the details in the fields and then click Update. To delete the E&M coding criteria, select a record, and click Delete. Add Cardiology Visit Types

You can add a Cardiology visit type using the VISIT TYPE section on the Card Setup Visit Types template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Card Setup Visit Types template. In the VISIT TYPE section, enter the name of the visit type and its abbreviation. In EM Requirement, select the number of criteria that needs to be met for Evaluation and Management (E&M) coding. To indicate an associated service location, select Hospital or Office. To indicate that a referral source is required, select Y or N. To indicate that the E&M coding criteria are defined as per the 2021 E&M coding guidelines, select Yes. Click Add. Assign Evaluation and Management Coding Criteria

You can assign Evaluation and Management coding criteria to a cardiology visit type. The criteria for assigning the Evaluation and Management (EM) code to visit types, configured as per the 2021 E&M coding guidelines, are decision making and time range. As per 95 and 97 guidelines, the criteria for assigning the EM code to a visit type include level of history, level of exam, and decision making, or total visit time. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. In System \ Practice Template, open the Card Setup Visit Types template. The effective date configured in the Practice Configuration practice template appears in the 2021 Date field.
