Configure a Custom DB Picklist
Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. In the top grid of the Custom DB Picklists template, select the custom DB picklist that you want to configure. Do one of the following: If a custom DB picklist uses only Qualifier 1 and Qualifier 2, it is managed from the Step 2 Add/Edit List Item panel grid. If the custom DB picklist has more than two qualifiers, the Step 2 Add/Edit List Items panel is collapsed and the Configure button appears to the right of the panel label, skip to step 3. Note: If you want to customize a care plan DB picklist for a specific practice, you need a record in the names table containing the selected practice ID. Select Configure.The Custom DB Picklist Setup template opens. Select Add New List Item link to add a new list item.The fields above the grid become available for documentation. Enter labels for the unassigned qualifiers or modify existing ones. Select Add. Select Save and Close. Parent topic: Custom DB Picklist Setup

Add Triggers to the Fields
After creating a custom DB picklist in the Custom DB Picklists system template, you can add triggers to a text field on any template using Template Editor. This enables you to open the newly created custom DB picklist to select a value for the field. In Template Editor, create a copy of the template to be modified and save the new copy with a unique name, as detailed below: Open NextGen® Template Editor. From the File menu, select Open.The Open window appears. In the Template name field, enter the template name to be modified. Select Open, then from the File menu, select Copy Template.The Copy Template opens. In the Template name field, enter a unique name for the template. The format for naming the file is XXX_Filename, where XXX is the system's abbreviation to identify the template. Select Make Shared. Select Copy.A copy of the template opens in Template Editor. Configure a Website to Access Patient Health Information
Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. In the Custom DB Picklists template top grid, select the Patient Generated Health setup DB picklist.The selected Patient Generated Health DB Picklist appears in the DBPicklist Name field. Select Configure.The Patient Generated Health Setup template opens with pre-configured data in the grid. To add a new care plan data, select the Add New List Items link.The fields above the grid become available for documentation. To associate the custom DB picklist to a practice, select the Practice ID field and select the practice that uses the care plan data. Configure the Animal Type
Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From the File menu, select System \ Practice Template. The Select Template window opens. On the System tab, select the All option. Select Custom DB Picklists, and then select OK. Select Animal type, and then select Configure. Search for the animal type. Dbpicklist Extended Config window displaying all the animal types that can be configured Select the animal type from the Available for add grid, and then select Add.The animal type appears in the Currently in use grid. Optional: To update an animal type, select the animal type from the Currently in use grid, make the changes, and then select Update. Access the Custom DB Picklists System Template
Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From the File menu, select System\Practice Template.The Select Template template list opens. In the Show section, select All to see a complete list of system-level templates. To access the Custom DB Picklists system template, do one of the following: Double-click Custom DB Picklists. Add Items to the Screening Questions Custom DB Picklist
You can add the screening questions in the Custom DB Picklists. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Custom DB Picklists system template. From the first grid, select the Screening_questions. In the Step 2 Add/Edit List Items section, select the Show selected DBPicklist (above) option. The Add/Edit List Items grid displays items found in the DB picklist. Select the Add New List Item link above the Step 2 Add/Edit List Items grid. Step 2 Add/Edit List Item Select a DB picklist name screening_questions from the list that opens and select OK. Use the edit fields below the Add/Edit List Items grid to create the item. A list of required fields and the information they contain can be found in the screening questions DB picklist required fields. Select Add to add the item to the DB picklist.
