Cardiac Procedure Categories

The Cardiac Procedures panel categorizes the types of historical cardiac procedures. Pre-existing cardiology procedures category lists have been moved to the CARD Procedure Categories DB picklist on the Custom DB Picklist system template. You can assign a procedure to a different category and add additional procedures to the categories using the CARD Procedure Link DB picklist on the Custom DB Picklist system template. Category Link Available Procedures Echo/MUGA Echo, Fetal Echo, ICE, IVUS, MUGA, and TEE Electrophysiology 24hr Amb ECG, Ablations, Cardioversion, Devices, EKG, EPS, EVR, Holter, and Tilt Table. Cath Lab Cath, Cath Pressures, IABP, PCI, Pericardiocentesis, RHC, and Watchman. Note: You can edit the Watchman procedure because it uses the configurable Test Result Wizard template. Vascular Opens a list of vascular categories. Note: You can add vascular procedures to a Vascular Category using the CARD Procedure Link Vasc DB picklist on the Custom DB Picklists system template.

Record Historical Test Results with Test Result Wizard

You can record historical test results with Test Result Wizard. Before you begin You must first configure the procedure on the Custom DB Picklist to use the Test Result Wizard. The Test Result Wizard template uses the content configured on the Custom DB Picklist system template to document historical procedure results. For more information, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the Custom DB Picklists System Template for NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine. The following steps use the TMVR procedure configurations. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Procedures tab. On the Cardiac Procedures panel, click CV Surgery.The Nga CDBP CARD Procs window opens. Select TMVR and click OK.The Test Result Wizard window appears, along with a Date PopUp window. Enter the procedure date in the Date PopUp window, and click Accept. Select a Pre-op MR Severity, Post-op MR Severity, and Vendor from the respective from the respective grids.The system builds the result statements in the R

Cardiac Procedures

The Cardiology Procedures template enables you to enter results for historical cardiac procedures administered to patients by a nurse, technician, or provider. The Cardiology procedure categories appear in the left pane of the Cardiac Procedures grid. You can filter the grid to show a specific date range. The Cardiac Procedures panel provides the following viewing options. Launch Template Opens the procedure template. Launch Attachment Opens the procedure attachment. Cardiac Procedures Document Historical Cardiac Procedures You can document historical cardiac procedures administered to patients. The application adds these procedures to the Order Management with status as completed. Configure Test Result Wizard

You can create new cardiac procedure test result wizards. You can use the Test Result Wizard template to configure a result template for procedures that are not packaged in NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine. You must configure the Test Result Wizard template on the Custom DB Picklist system template. For more information on customizing the DB picklist, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the Custom DB Picklists System Template for NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine. After you configure a procedure, the procedure name appears under the assigned category on the Cardiology Procedures template. Note: You need to pay close attention when you type each value in the DB picklists as some fields appear in multiple DB picklists. For example, in Procedure Name and Category, you must enter the same value for these fields as you configure the procedure. Add Result Selection Grid Labels

You can configure the grid labels and grid contents for the configurable Test Result Wizard template using the CARD Procedure List DB picklist. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. On the Custom DB Picklists system template, select CARD Procedure List and then click Configure.For more information on how to customize the DB picklist, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the Custom DB Picklists System Template for NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine. The Custom DBPicklist Setup template opens. You can observe that the TAVR procedure uses Reason for surgery, Valve size, and Brand as labels for the result grids. Assign Vascular Procedures

You can configure vascular procedures to use the Test Result Wizard template by assigning them to a Vascular Category on the CARD Procedure Link Vasc DB picklist. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. On the Custom DB Picklist system template, select CARD Procedure Link Vasc and then click Configure.The Custom DBPicklist Setup template opens. CARD Procedure Link Vasc DBPicklist Enter Vascular in the Category field. Enter one of the following for the Vascular Category: ABI Angiogram CT Duplex MRA Stent / PTA Vein Values entered for Vascular Category, appear in the first picklist when you select Vascular on the Cardiology Procedures template. You can create additional vascular categories. Enter the Procedure Name. To use the configurable Test Result Wizard template, enter CARD_test_result_wizard for the Template Name.
