Configure Patient Discharge Instructions
You can configure the discharge instructions for a specific procedure to appear in the run-time Patient Discharge Instructions panel on the ASC - Postprocedure template. From Specialty, select a specialty to configure the discharge instructions. Select Patient Discharge Instructions. To configure patient discharge instruction for a specific procedure, click the Procedure field and select a procedure from the list. The list includes a list of procedures configured for the specialty in the Procedure Config practice template. From Category, select a category to associate with the discharge instruction. If the options in the list are not relevant, double-click the top-blank row in the list and enter a new category in the Category field. The newly added category is available in the Category list for the next discharge instruction documentation. Enter the reason for discharge in the Required field. The Required field is used to indicate that the instruction is required for reasons like regul

Configure Procedure Order
In the Procedure Order & Discharge Instruction practice template, you can configure general and medication procedure orders for a specific specialty and procedure. To configure specialty-specific procedure orders, click Specialty and select a Specialty from the list. The grid populates with the existing procedure orders configured for the selected specialty. The Procedure Order option is selected by default. To configure procedure orders for a specific procedure, click the Procedures field and select a procedure from the list. The list includes a list of procedures configured for the specialty in the Procedure Config practice template. Click Type to select a type of order from the list. Click Category to select a category or stage to associate with the procedure orders. If the options in the list are not relevant, double-click the top-blank row in the list and enter the appropriate stage in the Category field. Sort the Patient Discharge Instructions
The discharge instructions in the run-time Procedure Patient Discharge Instructions panel are in the same order as the procedure order in the grid on the Procedure Order & Discharge Instruction practice template. In the practice template, you can sort the discharge instructions in the grid as follows: To view discharge instructions configured for a specific specialty, click Specialty and then select a specialty from the list. Click the Patient Discharge Instructions option. (Optional) Select a Procedure and Category. The grid displays the pre-configured discharge instructions associated with the selected procedure and category. Select any of the following Sort options below the grid: Category - To change the position of the discharge instructions associated with the selected category based on the selected sort functionality. Patient Discharge Instructions Panel on the ASC - Postprocedure Template
The Patient Discharge Instructions panel allows you to select the discharge instructions for the procedure. The discharge instructions are pre-configured for the procedures on the Procedure Orders and Discharge Instructions practice template. You can also add any new discharge instructions in this panel. Patient Discharge Instructions The Procedure field displays the procedure selected in the Procedure panel on the ASC - Intake template. If the current encounter includes only one procedure, then the Procedure field defaults to that procedure. If an encounter includes more than one procedure, then the first procedure documented in the encounter displays in the Procedure field. The Procedure field includes left and right arrows to go to the previous and the next procedure, respectively. If the current encounter includes only one procedure, the arrows will be unavailable to select.
