Joint Injection and Aspiration Template Defaults
The upper right corner of the Joint Injection/Aspiration template contains the Defaults field, along with the Right and Left checkboxes, and the Quick Load and Save default set buttons. You can use these features to expedite documentation of joint aspirations and injections. Document Detailed Consent Data for Joint Aspiration/Injection
In the Joint Aspiration/Injection template, click the Consent link to open the Consent - Procedures template. In the Provider field, click to select a name from the list. To select a description of the relationship of the consenter to the patient, do one of the following: Click the Consent by field to select a value. Click the top, blank row in the picklist to free text an entry into the field. Under Type of procedure, click the fields to enter up to three values. To document the timing of the procedure, do one of the following: Click Procedure date to select a value. Select the To be scheduled in the near future option for the procedure. If required, select the Procedure, treatment alternatives, risks and benefits were explained, specific risks discussed checkbox and then select the associated checkbox. To document the consent actions that are provided for the patient, select values for the remaining options. If required, enter Comments. To forward a consent-related item to another pe

Record Details for Patient's General Response
To record details for the patient’s general response to the procedures performed during the current encounter, on the Joint Aspiration/Injection template, fill in the associated fields. Patient Response section The provider can also go back after the procedure is completed to fill in the Improvement by site and % Improvement fields. Select No or Yes next to Tolerated procedure well. To specify how the patient tolerated of the procedure, do one of the following: Free text details in the Comments field. Use the My Phrases functionality. Document an Aspiration or Injection Procedure
In the Joint Aspiration/Injection template, highlight the diagnosis in the grid under Today’s Assessments. In the Procedure field, click to select a value from list. Select a Location from the picklists that display for the chosen procedure. To enter the method used, do one of the following: Click the Method field to select a value from the resulting list. Click the top, blank row in the picklist to free text an entry in the Method field. Joint Aspiration/Injection template If a specific site was prepped, in the Site Prepped section, select Yes. To choose a value for how the site was prepped, do one of the following: Click the Technique field. Click the blank row in the picklist to free text an entry. To specify the anesthetic provided for this patient, do one of the following: In the Anesthetic field, click to select a value from the picklist. Click the top row to free text the anesthetic. Patient Plan Data
Basic details can be selected in the Plan section of the Joint Injection/Aspiration template. A link to the My Plan template can also be used to enter additional items.
