Document the Patient's Residential Discharge Summary
- Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and then in Patient History, select Open Templates.
The Select Template window opens.
- On the Medical Records tab, select All.
- Select Residential Discharge Summary (BH), and then select OK.
Note: You can open the Residential Discharge Summary (BH) template from your Packet Navigation, or from the Templates module. For more information on configuring Packet Navigation, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the Configuration Guide for NextGen® Behavioral Health Suite.
- Select the program, specialty, and visit type.
Note: Only programs that the patient is actively enrolled in appear in the list. You can select <No Program> to create an encounter without a program, and then add the program later.
- Select the patient's discharge date and time.
- Document whether you need to close the selected program for the patient.
To close the selected program for the patient, you need to select the status of the patient's treatment in the program.
- Enter any discharge notes for the patient.
- In the Discharge Summary panel, document the treatment details, post-discharge support details, risk details, and the reason for the patient's discharge.
- In the Discharge Plan panel, document the patient's active medications, and discharge plans and instructions.
- Select the lab, immunization, diagnostics, and surgical procedure orders for the billing process.
- Document the patient's assessment and diagnosis details.
- Document the applicable signatures from the tasking supervisor or staff.
- Select Generate Document.
