Document Details of Patients Enrolled in the Opiate Treatment Program

Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select File > System\Practice Template. Select the Practice tab, and then select All. Select Opiate Treatment Clinician Management, and then select OK. Select the opioid treatment program. In the Opiate Treatment Patient Caseload and Opiate Treatment Discharge List panels, select a patient and select Open Chart to view their demographic information. Document the Patient's Progress in the Opiate Treatment Program

Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and then in Patient History, select Open Templates. The Select Template window opens. On the Medical Records tab, select All. Select Opiate Treat Progress Note (BH), and then select OK. In the Time Entry Navigation sidebar, select Billing Time Entry, and then enter the start time. Note: You can select the current time or enter the time manually. Select the program, specialty, and visit type. Note: Only programs that the patient is actively enrolled in appear in the list. You can select <No Program> to create an encounter without a program, and then add the program later. Select the opiate treatment program. In the Individuals Present panel, document the details of the individuals present during the assessment. Opiate Treatment Support

Opiate treatment programs are supported as part of Outpatient Mental Health & Substance Abuse Services. Several templates are available to help clinicians who treat patients suffering from opiate addictions. As a clinician, you can review and manage caseloads in the Opiate Treatment Clinician Management practice template. You can view a patient’s treatment history in the Opiate Treatment Program demographic template. Finally, complete documentation of treatment progress in the Opiate Treat Progress Note (BH) template. The default program option is a Methadone Treatment Program, but you can set up other treatment programs such as Suboxone. Configure Opiate Treatment Phases

Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select File > System \ Practice Template. The Select Template window appears with the system-related templates. Select the Practice tab, and then select All. The list of all the practice templates appears. Select Opiate Treatment Program Setup, and then select OK. The Opiate Treatment Program Setup template opens. Open the Opiate Treatment Program Setup template. Select a treatment program. Expand the Opiate Treatment Phases panel. Opiate Treatment Phases Panel Select the location and number of phases. Enter a description of the location-specific phase. Enter the minimum number of days required for a medication phase. Optional: To remove data from all the fields, select Clear. Select Add. Document a Patient's Drug Use

You can document the drug use of a patient on the Confidential – Alcohol/Drug template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. To open the Confidential – Alcohol/Drug template, do one of the following: In the Social panel on the Histories template, select the Confidential History link. In the History Summary panel on the Intake template, select the Confidential link. In the Drug Use/Abuse section, indicate the patient's use of drugs. If you select No, no other documentation is required in this section. If you select Yes or Formerly, enter the age at which patient had started using drugs, the drug type, frequency of drug use, and route. If the patient had used the drug earlier and has now quit, select Quit. Indicate if the patient has sought treatment for drug abuse. If you select Yes, enter the number of times the patient is treated and the date of the last treatment. Select Outpatient or Inpatient to indicate the type of treatment.
