You can capture data related to a patient's eating disorder and other nutritional data.
You can view and document details about a patient's nutritional assessment on the Nutritional Assessment template.
- In NextGen® Enterprise EHR, in Patient History, select the Templates button.
The Select Template window opens.
- On the Medical Records tab, select All.
- From the list, select Nutritional Assessment (BH), and then select OK.
- Expand the Today's Vital Signs panel, and enter the patient's vital signs and weight history information.
Note: In the Dental Symptoms section, you can document a pain plan by selecting a record in the Vitals record, and then selecting Edit. The Pain Plan link is located in the Pain Level section.
- Enter the patient's weight and basal metabolic rate information in the Weight and Metabolic Rate panel.
Note: This data is calculated from the BMI statistics collected in the Today's Vitals panel.
- Enter the patient's gastrointestinal symptoms in the Gastrointestinal Symptoms panel.
- To add or update the patient's daily dietary history in the Daily Dietary History panel, select the Daily Diet History link.
The diet details appear in the grid.
- Document the Previous Dietary Regimens, Vitamin and Mineral Intake, and Other Dietary Concerns information for the patient.
- Enter values for the nutrition-related lab parameters with dates for the patient in the Nutritional Related Labs panel.
- When a summary of care document (C-CDA) is present for the patient, in the Medications panel, select the Summary of care checkbox.
- To add or update a medication, select Add/Update.
The Medication Module window opens.
- Review and reconcile medications, and then select OK.
The Medication Reconciliation window closes, and the Medication panel appears.
- Enter the allergies and associated reactions for the patient in the Allergies panel.
- Document the diet and exercise recommendations and plans for the patient in the Recommendations/Plans panel.
- To calculate the patient's calorie level in the Today's Vital Sings panel, select Calculate Calorie Level. This option helps you to recommend and plan the nutritional requirements for a patient.
Note: You can generate a document with all the details, and then save it to the patient's encounter.
