In File Maintenance, open the Service Items Library.
Create a code in the Service Item Library.
In the
Orderable Test Setup (Protocols)
panel on the
Care Guidelines Setup
template, add the custom service code to the protocol.
Select
Add
.
Submit the configured charge to the Procedures module.
The care guideline is updated as complete.

Define Protocols for Care Guidelines
Open the Care Guidelines Setup template, and then expand the Orderable Tests Setup (Protocols) panel. Select the condition and reason from the available list. The grid displays the list for the selected condition and reason. In the Guideline/Test type field, select a type from the ActClasses picklist. For a test, select Office Procedures. Note: You must select Office Procedures when you create BH Protocols. In the Guideline/Test name field, select the SIM code from the picklist. In the Guideline/Test code field, select the applicable code. In the Apply to field, select M (for males), F (for females), or O (to apply to all). Optional: Add Interval, Start, and Stop age. Configure Equivalent and Alternative Protocols for Care Guidelines
On the Care Guidelines Setup template, and expand the Test Equivalents and Alternatives panel. In Test Name, select the test from the picklist. Optional: To validate the billing code, select the Enable billing code validation checkbox. To add the exact equivalent of the selected test, enter a Test description equivalent and Test code equivalent. To add an alternative code for the selected test, enter a Test description alternative and Test code alternative. Optional: To indicate the test is orderable, select the Orderable checkbox. Select Add/Update. The details appear in the grids below the respective fields. Optional: To remove a test, select the test in the grid, and then select Remove. Select Save & Close. Define Care Guideline Reasons
Open the Care Guidelines Setup template, and then expand the Define Guideline Reasons & Auto Application panel. In the Guideline Condition/Reason field, enter a name for the guideline. Guideline Condition/Reason field To configure a guideline to be specific to a gender, age, or diagnosis group, select the Auto-apply checkbox.The Gender field displays O for all ages. Gender field To apply a guideline to a specific gender, select the appropriate gender. Alternatively, to apply the guideline to all genders, you can use the O option in the list. Optional: To apply a guideline to a specific age range, enter the Start age and Stop age. To apply a guideline to a specific diagnosis group, select the appropriate group in the list. Check Duplicate Orderable Care Guideline Protocols

Completing Care Guidelines by Coded Results Mapping
Currently, a stored procedure runs at night to update any coded results mapping. Therefore, you do not see the update to Care Guidelines until the next day. The job is set to automatically run every night. Therefore, you can run a job at the encounter level from the Update Encounter Coded Data template to update the Coded Results mapping table immediately with the new values entered for the current patient encounter. Care Guideline Configuration for BH Protocols
You can configure protocols, such as Comprehensive assessment and Individual Service Plan, to update the next due date. You must configure Protocols before you can activate a Protocol for a client. Care Guidelines are configured on the Care Guidelines Setup practice template. You can select the Care Guidelines link on the template header to open the Care Guidelines window.
