Cures Certification

Mirth® Connect by NextGen Healthcare has received certification under the ONC Health IT Certification Program, which promotes transparency, modern standards, and enhanced health IT capabilities. After you undertsand the certified functionality and extensions required, you can take the necessary actions to support compliance with Cures Certification criteria.

ONC Health IT Certification promotes transparency, modern standards, and enhanced health IT capabilities by fostering innovation in the health care technology ecosystem to deliver better information to patients, clinicians, and other users.

Mirth® Connect by NextGen Healthcare has received ONC Heath IT Certification in the areas described in this section.

This document includes information about required extensions, features in Mirth® Connect that support certified functionality, and required actions by the user as they apply to each function.

To comply with the Cures Certification criteria, you must install and use of the following Mirth® Connect extensions:

• Cures Certification Support: used for auditing event tampering.

• Enhancement Bundle: allows users to search for and export messages across multiple channels.

• Multi-Factor Authentication: adds a layer of security with the option to use Duo or time-based one time password (TOTP) authentication methods.

• Role-Based Access Control: used by administrators to create roles and assign roles to users. Roles restrict system access to authorized users based on their role within the organization.

• SSL Manager: used to enable and configure certificate-based SSL connectivity.
