Add a User to Mirth® Appliance by NextGen Healthcare

You can add users who can connect to the appliance. Select System > Users. Select Add.The Add User window appears. Enter a username, the user’s full name, a password, and confirm the password. You can also add the user's email address and phone number. Under Roles, set the privileges the user has for the appliance.If you select Mirth Connect User, you also synchronize the user account with Mirth® Connect Administrator. Note: Creating a user in the Mirth® Connect Administrator does not allow you to create an appliance user. Select Add to add the user. Parent topic: Viewing and Managing Users

Viewing and Managing Users

You can view and manage users or configure the ability to log on to the Control Panel using accounts from an external LDAP server. Select System > Users to access the Appliance Users window. On this window, you can add, edit, or delete users. You can also configure the users' ability to log on to the Control Panel by using accounts from an external LDAP server. Edit or Delete an Existing VPN Connection

You can edit or delete an existing connection. Select Services > VPN Connections. Select the linked name in the list on the VPN Connection Management window. To edit the user, you can update the IP address or download an updated client software bundle to send to the user To delete the user, select Delete, and then confirm you want to delete the connection. Deleting a user immediately revokes the digital certificate and disconnects them from the system. The number of VPN users is limited by the size of the private network defined. The default private network configuration allows for 63 VPN connections. The number of concurrent connections is only limited by the processing capacity of your Mirth® Appliance by NextGen Healthcare. Log On

Use the Mirth® Connect Login window to authenticate yourself and log on to the Administrator. When you open the Administrator view, the following window appears: Image of the login window The Server field is pre-filled with the correct IP address and port, however, you can change the address, if needed. Note: If this is the first time you are logging on to Mirth® Connect, the default username is admin and the default password is admin. Enter your username and password in the fields. Select Login. Note: If Require Login Notification and Consent (Settings > Server) is set to Yes, a window appears displaying the notification text. Select Accept to continue. Using the Mirth® Appliance by NextGen Healthcare Control Panel

The Control Panel is a web interface where you can view and set the details of the Mirth® Appliance by NextGen Healthcare configuration, and monitor and control its operation. The default credentials are: username: admin password: admin Important: You should delete or change the default credentials as soon as possible. When you are logged on to the Mirth® Appliance by NextGen Healthcare, the Control Panel displays a series of menus. Selecting the name of the menu takes you to the first item in that menu by default. For example, if you select System on the menu goes, you go directly to the Dashboard. The Control Panel includes three indicators with a current status for each. Manage the Control Panel

The Control Panel Settings window enables you to personalize the Mirth® Appliance by NextGen Healthcare. Select Applications > Applications Control. Select Manage to open the Control Panel Settings window. Control Panel Settings window Enter a unique Appliance Name to identify the appliance. CAUTION: It is very important to set the Appliance Name, especially in cases where there is more than one appliance on the same network or managed by the same person. If necessary, set the user inactivity timeout period, the name of your company, and the name, title, and contact number for the appliance’s administrator. In the VPN instructions sent to VPN users, the administrator information is included as the administrative contact in case of problems with the VPN. Select Update to save the settings.
