Set Up Practice Preferences for Credit Card Processors

  1. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM.
  2. Select Admin > Preferences > Practice.
    The Practice Preferences window opens.
  3. From the Preference List, select Payment Processing.
  4. To activate credit card processing for your practice, select Enable Credit Card Processing.
  5. To process partial refund amounts that are less than the original credit card payment to the patients, select Allow partial credit on credit card payments.
  6. Optional: To save the credit card data as a unique token ID, select Save Credit Card Token ID on file.
  7. Select Auto Pay Collection Process for automatic collection of payments.
  8. Select InstaMed as the Credit Card Processor.
  9. In the Payment Method section, select one or more of the payment methods and the unique transaction code applicable to your practice.
  10. To override the default credit card transaction code on the Payment Entry window, select Override Credit Card Payment Default Transaction Code.
  11. In the Bad Debt Payment Method section, select one or more of the payment methods and the unique transaction code that your practice accepts for bad debt:
  12. Select OK.
