Set Up Practice Preferences for Credit Card Processors
- Open NextGen® Enterprise PM.
- Select Admin > Preferences > Practice.
The Practice Preferences window opens.
- From the Preference List, select Payment Processing.
- To activate credit card processing for your practice, select Enable Credit Card Processing.
- To process partial refund amounts that are less than the original credit card payment to the patients, select Allow partial credit on credit card payments.
Note: If you do not select the Allow partial credit on credit card payments option, users can only credit the full amount of the original credit card transaction. The full amount of the original transaction appears in CC Amt and Pay on the Payment Entry window and is not editable.
- Optional: To save the credit card data as a unique token ID, select Save Credit Card Token ID on file.
- Select Auto Pay Collection Process for automatic collection of payments.
- Select InstaMed as the Credit Card Processor.
- In the Payment Method section, select one or more of the payment methods and the unique transaction code applicable to your practice.
- To override the default credit card transaction code on the Payment Entry window, select Override Credit Card Payment Default Transaction Code.
Note: When you select the Override Credit Card Payment Default Transaction Code check box, the Patient Cash and Account Cash fields on the Tran Codes preference window are turned off.
- In the Bad Debt Payment Method section, select one or more of the payment methods and the unique transaction code that your practice accepts for bad debt:
Note: The Override Credit Card Payment Default Transaction Code option does not affect the Bad Debt Payment Method selection.
- Select OK.
