Open
NextGen® Enterprise PM
.
On the main toolbar, select
ApptBook
.
Select the appointment.
The
Edit Appointment
window opens.
From the
Ins/Diag
tab, select the referral to be modified.
Right-click and select
Open Referral
.
The
Referral Code Tracking
window opens.
Modify the referral information as needed.
Select
OK
.
The referral modifications are saved.

Delete Insurance Referrals
Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. On the main toolbar, select ApptBook. Select the appointment. The Edit Appointment window opens. From the Ins/Diag tab, select the referral to be deleted. Right-click and select Delete Referral. A message appears for your confirmation to delete the referral. Select OK. The referral is deleted. Parent topic: Add or Modify an Insurance Referral

Add an Insurance Referral
Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. On the main toolbar, select ApptBook. Select the appointment. The Edit Appointment window opens. From the Ins/Diag tab, select the insurance for which a referral is to be added. Right-click and select New Referral from the menu. The Referral Code Tracking window opens. In the Referral Mode section, select one of the following: Encounter Mode: Select this button if the referral is approved for a specific number of encounters. This button is selected by default. Units Mode: Select this button if the referral is approved for a specific number of charge units. In the Referral Code field, enter the referral number obtained from the insurance company. This field is required. In the Effective Date field, enter the start date for the referral. This field is required. In the Expiration Date field, enter the end date for the referral. Add or Modify an Insurance Referral
A Referral for an insurance can be added, updated or deleted from the Ins/Diag tab of the Add/Edit Appointment window. Add an Insurance Referral You can add insurance referrals in NextGen Enterprise PM using the Appointment Book. Modify Insurance Referrals You can modify insurance referrals in NextGen Enterprise PM using the Appointment Book. Modify an Insurance Authorization
Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. On the main toolbar, select ApptBook. Select the appointment. The Edit Appointment window opens. From the Ins/Diag tab, select the authorization to be modified. Right-click and select Open Authorization. The Authorization Code Tracking window opens. Modify the authorization information as needed. To save changes and close the window, select OK. Modify an Insurance Referral
From the Ins/Diag tab, highlight the referral to be modified. Right-click and select Open Referral. The Referral Code Tracking window opens. Modify the referral information as needed. Insurance/Diagnosis Tab
The Insurance/Diagnosis tab on the Add/Edit Appointment window displays insurance and ICD information for the patient. The Appointment Insurance section displays insurances linked to the appointment. Authorizations and/or referrals numbers are listed below each insurance, if applicable. The ICD-CM section displays a listing of ICD codes linked to the current open appointment, if applicable. Add Insurances to Appointments You can add insurance to an appointment in NextGen Enterprise PM with the Appointment Book. Appointment Insurance Columns You can add or remove columns to view on the Appointment Insurance section. Modify Appointment Insurance Information You can update patient insurance details to ensure accurate billing and coverage.
