Modify Appointment Insurance Information

In the Appointment Insurance Selection window, you can add and manage insurances for billing, with pushpin icons indicating existing data and providing access to the Insurance Maintenance window. You can view detailed information by hovering over the pushpins and use the right-click menu to adjust column sizes and select which columns to display. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. On the main toolbar, select ApptBook. Select the appointment. The Edit Appointment window opens. Select the Ins/Diag tab. In the Appointment Insurance section, select the menu button, and then select New Insurance. The Appointment Insurance Selection window opens. Open the Appointment Insurance Selection window for a patient encounter. A column with a pushpin icon indicates information exists for the category. A blank column indicates information does not exist for the category. Add or Modify an Insurance Authorization

An Authorization for an insurance can be added, updated or deleted from the Ins/Diag tab of the Add/Edit Appointment window. Add an Insurance Authorization You can add insurance authorization in NextGen Enterprise PM using the Appointment Book. Add or Modify an Insurance Referral

A Referral for an insurance can be added, updated or deleted from the Ins/Diag tab of the Add/Edit Appointment window. Add an Insurance Referral You can add insurance referrals in NextGen Enterprise PM using the Appointment Book. Add Insurances to Appointments

You can add and modify diagnoses and patient insurance details, including self-pay. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. On the main toolbar, select ApptBook. Select the appointment. The Edit Appointment window opens. Select the Ins/Diag tab. In the Appointment Insurance section, select the open menu icon and select New Insurance. Select the insurance, and then select the arrow button to move the insurance to the Selected Insurance section. Note: When attaching insurance to an appointment requiring a referral or authorization, notifications will be prompted for the Primary Payer only, with the authorization notification appearing first if both are needed. If the patient is over 65 and the primary payer is not Medicare or lacks the Medicare Replacement Payer option, an alert will be displayed. Alerts are shown in the order of Payer alert, Authorization Required alert, Referral Required alert, and the Patient is over 65 and Medicare was not selected alert. Insurance Maintenance Window

The Insurance Maintenance window is used to add or update a patient's insurance information. The subscriber of the insurance may be the patient, or another person to which the patient has a relationship, such as a spouse or a parent.
