Delete Appointment Options

Fields	Description
Resources	This field displays the resources that are associated with the appointment that you want to delete.
Recurring Appt Dates	This field displays the dates for other recurring occurrences in the series, if the appointment that you want to delete is a recurring appointment.
Event Chain Members	This field displays the other appointments for the member events in the event chain, if the appointment that you want to delete is part of an event chain.
Linked Appointments	This field displays the other appointments that are linked to the appointment that you want to delete. Note: By default, all appointments in this list are selected. You can select only the appointments that you want to delete.
Delete All Resources Attached to this Appointment	You can select this option if you want to delete all the resources associated with the appointment.
Delete All Recurring Instances	This option is selected by default. Note: You can clear the selection for this option if you do not want to delete all the recurring occurrences in the series for a recurring appointment.
Delete All Event Chain Members	You can select this option if you want to delete all the member events in the event chain. Note: If you do not select this option, only the selected member event of the event chain is deleted.
Delete All Linked Appointments	This option is selected by default. Note: You can clear the selection for the linked appointments that you do not want to delete.

Delete Recurring Appointments

When you delete an appointment that is part of a recurring series, you can select the other recurring occurrences in the series from the Delete Appointment window if you want to delete them as well. Open the Appointment Book window. Select an appointment to be deleted that is part of a recurring series of appointments. Do one of the following: Right-click the appointment and select Delete. Select the appointment and select the Delete Appt button on the Appointment Book toolbar. Open the appointment and select the Delete button on the Edit Appointment window. The Delete Appointment window opens. In the Recurring Appt Dates section, do the following: Select the recurring occurrence that must be deleted. Clear the selection for the recurring occurrence that you do not to delete. In the Delete Options section, clear the selection for the Delete All Recurring Instances option if you do not want to delete all the linked appointments. Note: This option is selected by default. When you delete an appointment for a patient, if there are multiple appointments on the same day or in the future, you can select the linked appointments from the Delete Appointment window if you want to delete them as well. Delete an Appointment

You can delete an appointment for a patient from the following locations in NextGen® Enterprise PM: Appointment Book (all views except Monthly) Appointment Lookup Window Clinical History/Notes tab in the Patient Chart. Note: If it is important to record the reason for deleting an appointment, NextGen Healthcare recommends that you cancel the appointment instead of deleting it. Delete an Appointment From Appointment Book You can delete an appointment from the Appointment Book window if the appointment is no longer needed. Delete an Appointment From Appointment Lookup You can delete an appointment from the Appointment Lookup window, if the appointment is no longer needed. Delete an Appointment From Clinical History/Notes You can delete an appointment from the Patient Chart window, if the appointment is no longer needed. Add Event Chain Options

The following table describes different event chain options: Option Description Event Sequence Matters Note: This option is selected by default. You can select this option if the Member Events must be scheduled in the order defined within the setup of the event chain. You must clear this option, if the Member Events can be scheduled in any order. Allow Events to Span Multiple Days You can select this option if the Member Events can be scheduled across multiple days. The interval between events can be setup using Minutes, Hours or Days. If the Member Events must be scheduled on the same day, then do not select this option. The interval between events can be setup using Minutes or Hours. By default, this option is not selected. Linked Events You can select this option if the appointments for all Member Events should be checked-in simultaneously and linked to the same encounter. If each Member Event should be check-in separately and linked to a separate encounter, then do not select this
