Classification/Beneficiary

Classification/Beneficiary is a part of patient demographics entry and it is used by IHS practices for reporting purposes. Classification/Beneficiary indicates an individual's IHS classification for benefits. The Classification/ Beneficiary field displays on the UDS tab of the Add/Modify Patient Information window in NextGen® Enterprise PM. Note: The Classification/Beneficiary master list table can be installed by using the IHS Report Export Utility provided by NextGen Technical Consulting Services. IHS Eligibility Status

IHS Eligibility Status is a part of patient demographics entry and it is used by IHS practices for reporting purposes. IHS Eligibility Status indicates an individual's eligibility for services based on their tribal affiliation. The IHS Eligibility Status field displays on the UDS tab of the Add/Modify Patient Information window in NextGen® Enterprise PM. Descendancy

Descendancy is a part of patient demographics entry and it is used by IHS practices for reporting purposes. Descendancy indicates an individual's descendancy. For example, a patient could be of Cherokee descendancy on their mother's side. The Descendancy field displays on the UDS tab of the Add/Modify Patient Information window in NextGen® Enterprise PM. Tribal Affiliation

Tribal Affiliation is a part of patient demographics entry and it is used by IHS practices for reporting purposes. Tribal affiliation indicates the Indian tribe, band, nation, group, pueblo, or community that an individual is a member of. The Tribal Affiliation field displays on the UDS tab of the Add/Modify Patient Information window in NextGen® Enterprise PM. IHS Specific Master Lists

When enabled, a UDS tab displays on the Add/Modify Patient Information window in NextGen® Enterprise PM. The tab includes fields for capturing additional patient demographic information used by IHS practices for reporting purposes. The UDS tab and related IHS fields are enabled at the enterprise level. Therefore, they are available to all practices in the enterprise. The pick-list items available for user selection in each IHS field are created in the corresponding Master Lists tables in File Maintenance. Demographic Information for IHS

Additional fields may be used by IHS practices to meet state specific and/or other reporting needs. These fields are not required for the UDS report.
