Automatic Payment Collections

You can set up the Automatic Payment Collections (APC) feature, which is an integrated billing collection process, with NextGen® Pay powered by InstaMed. APC enables your practice to bill a patient's credit card or checking account based on the statement cycle set up in Practice Preferences. Your practice can process automatic payment collections on outstanding patient balances after insurance has paid their amount up to agreed upon maximum per statement. The NextGen® Enterprise PM APC features offers you benefits which include: Guaranteed and improved patient revenue with automatic payments Cuts cost as there are no print and email statements. Increased efficiency due to a better workflow You must be a NextGen® EDI print services client to use this feature. You can access the InstaMed APC Portal from the patient's account profile to enroll the patient at any time before or during a visit. Collect Payment Using Credit Cards on File

You can collect electronic payments using a credit card on file. You can use the active credit card for a patient. If the patient has more than one credit card on file, you can use the credit card specified by the patient or payer. Note: You must activate a batch before you process a patient's payment. In NextGen® Enterprise PM, select Posting.The Batch Posting window opens. Right-click a batch and select Active Batch. Double-click the active batch.The Payment Entry window opens. In the Payer field, select patient. Select CC Pay and then select Card on File.The Payment Processing window opens. The default card displays in Credit Card on File. Note: If there are existing practice preferences and no user preferences are selected, the payment processing is done as follows: For practices with a single MID, the NextGen® Pay powered by InstaMed web form opens on your default browser and you can enter the credit card number. Collect ECheck Payments Without Devices

You must activate a batch before you collect payments for a patient. You can then enter the payment information on the Payment Entry window. In NextGen® Enterprise PM, select Posting.The Batch Posting window opens. Right-click a batch and select Active Batch. Double-click the active batch.The Payment Entry window opens. In the Payer field, select patient. Select CC Pay, and then select ECheck.A window opens, where you can complete the payment on a card reader or a web form. Complete the Payment on Card Reader or Web Form In Profile, select the No Device profile. In Using Outlet, select the No Device outlet, and then select Process. The NextGen® Pay powered by InstaMed web form opens in the default browser. Optional: If there are existing practice preferences and no user preferences are selected, select one of the payment processing method: For practices with a single MID, the NextGen® Pay powered by InstaMed web form opens on your default browser and you can enter the cheque details. Swipe or Insert Credit Cards to Collect Payments

Youc can collect payments from patients by swiping the credit card, inserting the card (EMV chip), or keying in the card details. In NextGen® Enterprise PM, select Posting.The Batch Posting window opens. Right-click a batch and select Active Batch. Double-click the active batch.The Payment Entry window opens. In the Payer field, select patient. Select CC Pay, and then select Swipe/Insert. Select the applicable profile and outlet ID. Select Process. Optional: If there are existing practice preferences and no user preferences are selected, select one of the payment processing method: For practices with a single MID, the NextGen® Pay powered by InstaMed web form opens on your default browser and you can enter the cheque details. For practices with multiple existing MID's, the Profile and Using Outlet options appear as blank by default. You can select the desired profile and outlet, and select Process to enter the cheque details. Any existing user preferences are available in the window. I

You can process an ECheck payment by using a check scanner. When you use a check scanner, patient and check information automatically appear on the NextGen® Pay powered by InstaMed web form.
