You can set up the sliding fee schedule master file and sliding fee preferences.
 
 
  - In NextGen® Enterprise PM, on the Estimated Patient Cost window, select a patient or person who you want to perform the cost estimation for.
 
  - In the Patient/Guarantor Information section, select 
.
   
    The Modify Patient Information window opens.
   
 
  - Select the UDS tab.
 
  - In the Sliding Fee Schedule Verification section, select the open menu 
, and select New.
   
    The 
Sliding Fee Verification window opens. 
    
    
  - Select the Sliding Fee Schedule for the patient or person.
   
    Note: The Sliding Fee Schedule list displays the schedules defined in the sliding fee schedules master file in File Maintenance. Hidden and expired sliding fee schedules are not listed.
    
 
     
  - Select the effective and expiration dates for the sliding fee schedule.
 
  - In the Head of Household Family Information section, select the open menu 
, and select New.
   
    Note: To enter family information, a head of household must be selected for the patient or person.
    
 
    
   
    The 
Family Info window opens. 
    
    Note: Fields marked in red are required fields.
    
 
    
  - Type or select the family size of the person or patient. The default value is 1.
 
  - Type the income of the person's or patient's household. The default value is $0.00.
 
  - Select the income cycle.
 
  - If the head of household refuses to provide income information, select Refused to Report .
 
  - Select the date when the family information is verified. 
 
  - Select the effective and expiration dates for the family information. 
 
  - Select OK.
   
    The changes are saved, and the Family Info window closes.
   
 
  - On the Sliding Fee Verification window, select OK.
   
    Note: When multiple sliding fee schedules are linked to a patient or person, you can sort the order of the schedules using the blue up and down arrows. When a service line item is entered on the Estimate Patient Cost window, the application looks at each schedule, in hierarchical order, to determine the schedule to be used for automatic adjustments.
