Using Event End Time

When you use End Time to configure the end times for the events within an event chain, the Interval minutes are added to the end time of the previous event. The event end time is determined by the duration of the event. End time enables you to add time between events. Start Times for Events in an Event Chain

You can set up the events within an event chain to occur concurrently or sequentially. The start time for each event within an event chain is controlled by configuring the interval between the events. The interval can be based on number of minutes, hours or days. Using Start Time or End Time in the interval setup controls whether the start time for the next event is based on the start time or end time of the previous event. Configure Event Chain Intervals

An Interval is defined for events within an event chain to determine the time between the previous and next event in the chain. The interval specifies when the next event in the chain starts. For example, you can have a two-event chain with an interval of 15 minutes applied at the end time of the first event. Therefore, the start time of the second event equals the end time of the first event plus 15 minutes. Note: In the Appointment Book window, you can override the appointment date and start time for any event in the event chain except the first event. To do so, double-click an event in the Resources field on the Add Appointment window. In the Specify Date/Time for Event fields, select the desired date and time for the event. Clear an Event Chain Interval

Following are the steps to clear (remove) the interval between events in an event chain: In NextGen® Enterprise PM, select Admin > Scheduling Admin. Note: When you select the Enable Enterprise Appointment Scheduling option in Practice Preferences window, the Scheduling Admin option on the Admin menu displays the following two options: Enterprise Practice The Scheduling Administration window opens. Select the Event Chains tab. Select an event chain to be modified. Right-click and select Open from the menu. The Edit Event Chain window opens. In the Member Events list, right-click the event that you want to remove the interval, and select Clear Interval. The Interval, Scale, and Apply To parameters are removed from the event. Schedule an Event Chain

Multiple events grouped together are called an Event Chain. Each individual event within an event chain is called an event chain member. You can schedule the events in a defined sequence. Note: When you create an event chain in Scheduling Administration, you must specify if the event chain needs to be scheduled sequentially or the sequence does not matter. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. From the main toolbar, select the ApptBook button. The Appointment Book window opens. In the Daily, Weekly Schedule or Multi-View tab, select the resource, date, and time slot for the first event in the event chain. Do one of the following: From the Appointment Book toolbar, select the Add Appt button. Right-click the time slot and, select New from the menu. Double-click the time slot. The Add Appointment window opens. In the Event/Event Chain field, select the desired event chain. Note: Event chains appear with a chain link icon. Set Up Interval Overrides for an Event

Setting up an override for an event is when you add a duration time to an event that is different from the default duration time. Note: A duration time override for a resource cannot be less than the practice Default Time Interval, which is set on the Appt Scheduling Practice Preferences. For example, if the default time interval is 30 minutes, then you cannot set a resource duration time override for less than 30 minutes. However, if the default time interval changes, the duration time for the appointment reflects the default time interval, not the resource duration time override. Select the Admin > Scheduling Admin. Select the Events tab. The Events list opens. Double-click the applicable event. Note: The Interval column only displays when the Allow interval overrides check box is selected in the Appt Scheduling Practice Preferences. The Edit Event window opens.
