Set Up Exceptions for a Secondary Payer

The Claim Printing options available for the 1500 form on the Exceptions: When Payer is Secondary tab apply only when the payer associated with the library is the secondary payer. In File Maintenance, select Libraries and then Claim Printing. The Claim Printing List window opens. Double-click the applicable library or select open menu button and select New. Select the Exceptions: When Payer is Secondary tab. Select the claim type in the 1500 Claims, UB Claims, or the ADA Claims fields. Claim Print Options in Claim Printing Library

The Claim Printing window displays the claim print options based on the paper claims and the payer type you select. The following paper claims appear in the Claim Printing library: 1500 Claims enables you to select CMS 1500 (2005) or CMS 1500 (2012) claim form. The options for the form you select appear under 1500 in the Option column. UB Claims enables you to select UB04 (2004) or UB92 (1992) claim form. The options for the form you select appear under UB in the Option column. ADA Claims enables you to select ADA (2019) or ADA (2024) claim form. The options for the form you select appear under ADA in the Option column. ADA (2024) is the default claim form when you set up a new Claim Printing library.
