Do one of the following:
Select the
Admin
menu and then select
Preferences
and then
Practice
.
In File Maintenance, select
Master Files - System
>
Practices
.
On the
Practices List
window, double-click a practice, and then select
Preferences
.
The
Practice Preferences
window opens.
Select the
Chart
Practice Preferences.
Select the appropriate option from the
Release of Information
field.
Select
OK

Set Up the Payer Default for Release of Information
If a Release of Information default is set in the Chart practice preferences but a payer requires a different setting, you can set a different value for the payer. The payer value overrides the value set in the Chart practice preferences for any encounter that the payer is attached to. In File Maintenance, select Master Files > System, and then select Payers. In the Payers list, double-click the appropriate payer. The Modify Payer Information window opens. Select the System tab, and then select the appropriate option in the Release of Information field. Setting Up a Release of Information Default
A patient's release-of-information status is claim information that may be required by some payers and is sent electronically. Although you can set Release of Information at the encounter level, you can also set a default at the practice and payer level. Practice Level The practice-level default is setup in Practice Preferences on the Chart tab. This setting will be the default for every encounter for the practice. Payer Level The payer-level default is setup in File Maintenance. acces Master Files > Payers on the System tab of the Modify Payer Information window. This setting the default when the payer is associated with an encounter. The payer-level setting overrides the practice-level setting. The default is stored in the insurance record and displays on the Patient Insurance - Encounter window. Set Up Auto Release Practice Preferences
Select File Maintenance > Master Files > System > EHR > Practices > Preferences > Orders Module. Select All tab. Double-click your practice. The Modify Practice Information window opens. Select Preferences. Select Orders Module from the Preference List. The Orders tab opens. The Auto Release options display on the All tab. Select the Auto Release Task Group to receive the notification that the order has been auto released, if necessary. Select your practice's Auto Release Option to use the Auto Release function from the list: Opt-in. Select this option if your practice chooses to use the Auto Release function. Note: If you select this Opt-in option, when creating Future and Recurring orders the Automatically release this order when it is due check box is enabled.
