Search Criteria in Sliding Fee Batch Adjustment Window

Field	Description
From Date	Sets the begin date for your search criteria, you can select one of the following options: You can select Today to search for encounters with the current date in the To Date section. You can select Yesterday to search for encounters with the previous day's date in the To Date section. You can enter Day(s) ago to search for encounters with a previous date. You can enter or select the number of previous days to begin the search. For example, to search for encounters for the past week, enter seven (7). Note: In the To Date day(s) ago field, you must enter a number equal to or less than the number entered in the From Date day(s) ago field. For example, From Date days ago = 7, then To Date day(s) ago =< 7. You can select Earliest possible date to search for all encounters.
To Date	Sets the end date for your search criteria, you can select one of the following options: You can select Today to search for encounters with the current date. You must select this option in the From Date section. You can select Yesterday to search for encounters with the previous day's date. You must select this option in the From Date section. You can select Day(s) ago to search for encounters with a previous date, you can enter or select the number of previous days to end the search. Note: In the To Date day(s) ago field, you must enter a number equal to or less than the number entered in the From Date day(s) ago field. For example, From Date days ago = 7, then To Date day(s) ago =< 7.
Patient Type	Shows types of patient.
Service Location	Shows encounter service locations.
Rendering Physician	Shows the provider who rendered the service to the patient.
Financial Class	Shows the patient's financial class, for example self-pay, workman's comp, or medicare.
Primary Payer	Shows the patient's primary payer.
Override Process Date	Overrides date that is greater than or equal to the most recent date for all charges or encounters for override processing. You can leave blank to use the current system date as the process date. You can enter the minimum process date set by the practice. Sort the encounters/charges in reverse order to find the most recent date for all charges/encounters. Note: This field displays only if you have security access rights to override a process date.

Apply Sliding Fee Adjustments using the Batch Process

You can process Sliding Fee Batch Adjustment in NextGen® Enterprise PM. To filter and select specific encounters, you can use the following fields: Date or Date Range Patient Type Service Location Rendering Physician Financial Class Primary Payer To apply sliding fee adjustments to multiple encounters in batch mode, do the following: Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. Select File > Processes > Sliding Fee Batch Adjustments. The Sliding Fee Batch Adjustment window opens. Enter the Search Criteria fields, and then select the encounters. Select Find. Encounters matching the search criteria display in the Encounter List grid. To apply a sliding fee adjustment to the selected encounters, select Batch Adjust. Applying Sliding Fee Schedules to Charges

When a Sliding Fee Schedule is attached to a patient or guarantor account profile, the Sliding Fee Schedule can be applied against charges for an encounter and the application automatically calculates the adjustment. You can right-click on a line item in the Encounter Maintenance window and either remove or apply a sliding fee adjustment. If the insurance for a patient is discovered to be expired after charges have been applied to the encounter, the patient becomes eligible for a sliding fee adjustment. You can apply the sliding fee adjustment on the line item in the Encounter Maintenance window. Note: Sliding Fee adjustments uses the same process date as the charge process date. If it is overridden, the transaction posting date for the adjustment reflects the current date.
