Locate and View an Existing Report Snapshot

On the NextGen® Enterprise PM main menu, select Reports > Snapshots. The Report Snapshots window opens. Enter the search criteria that you want to use to locate the report snapshot that you want to view. You can enter one or more of the following criteria: Description- Enter a description of the snapshot in the Description field. Report Title- Select the title of the report for which the snapshot was created from the Report Title drop-down list. Enhanced Report- It indicates if the report is enhanced or legacy. Created By- Select the name of the user who created the snapshot you want to access in the Created By drop-down list. Snapshot creation date range- Enter dates in the Create Dt From and the Create Dt To fields to indicate the time frame when the snapshot was created. Select Find. The search results display in the Report Snapshots list. Double-click on the report snapshot you want to view. The report snapshot opens. You can view but cannot edit the report snapshot. Memorizing Reports

You can memorize reports in NextGen® Enterprise PM and File Maintenance, so they always generate data using your preferred settings and format. Memorizing a report prevents you from having to select the same columns, filters, sorting and grouping on the Report Filter window each time you generate a frequently used report. It is important to note that memorizing a report saves your selected settings and format, but not the actual data on the report. Before memorizing reports, you must first create report categories in the Report Types master file in File Maintenance. When you memorize a report, you are required to save it to a specific report type. Examples might include Front Office Reports, Back Office Reports and Management Reports. For more information on setting up Report Types, refer to the File Maintenance Master Files Guide for NextGen® Enterprise PM. After reports have been memorized in NextGen® Enterprise PM, you can access and run them from the Reports button on the main tool

Preview and Print Reports

When a report is generated and it displays on screen, you can either print the report or you can preview the report to see how it will look when you print it. To print a report from the report display, do the following: From the report toolbar, select Print Report . Note: If you want to print specific pages instead of the entire report, select Preview Report . The report prints to your default printer. To preview a report from the report display, do the following: From the report toolbar, select Preview Report . The Print Preview window opens. If a message displays indicating the report does not fit on the page, select Yes to return to the report display, and then remove and resize columns as necessary. If you select No to return to the report, the report shows as much as possible, but some data is cut off. Setting Report Columns and Filters

All reports have columns and filters that you can use to customize the report data and format. You can modify the reports by: Adding and removing columns. Selecting different sorting and grouping orders. Selecting new ways of totaling the columns. Modifying the criteria used for each report that you generate, such as specific date ranges for a rendering provider. Because each report generates different information, the filter criteria available to you depends on the report you are creating. After you have modified a report filter to fit your needs, you can memorize it so you can run the report at another time. To open the Report Filter window, do one of the following: Select a report from the Reports menu. If a report is already open, select the Report Filter toolbar button. Right-click on an open report, and then select Filter. Some common elements display on the Report Filter window for each report. Save Report Data as a Report Snapshot

The Report Snapshot function allows you to save the data for a specific report and retrieve it for future use, as needed. Unlike memorized reports, which save the filters and the most current data, a Report Snapshot retains the report data when you generated it. You cannot change the data. You can use these types of reports for tracking and clinical reference. Report Snapshots save the report data not the report filters. Memorized reports save the filters you have selected, but not the report data. Note: Before you can use report snapshots, make sure that have configured Access Rights in NextGen System Administrator > Rights > Reports > Snapshot. From the Main menu, select File > Reports > Enterprise / Practice. Select data and generate the appropriate report. Save the report data by selecting the Save As Snapshot button on the Reports Toolbar. The Save Snapshot window opens. Save Snapshot Enter the name of the report in the Save As field. Note: Create a name that describes the report.
