Enable CCBHC Qualifying Encounters

To track encounters in NextGen® Enterprise PM that qualify for reporting under the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) program, an option must be enabled in Practice Preferences. Access NextGen® Enterprise PM. From the Admin menu, select Preferences, and then Practice. The Practice Preferences window opens. From the Preference List on the left, select Encounters. Tracking CCBHC Qualifying Encounters

The Encounter Specifics tab of the Encounter Maintenance window includes a CCBHC Qualifying Encounter check box. The check box is used to indicate that an encounter qualifies for inclusion on reports for the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) program. Note: The check box is available for selection only if the CCBHC Qualifying Encounter option is enabled in Practice Preferences > Encounters. Encounter Maintenance window; Encounter Specifics tab The CCBHC Qualifying Encounter check box can be selected for an encounter by doing one of the following: Manually select the check box on a qualifying encounter. Enter a charge on the encounter for a SIM code that is flagged in the Service Items library as a CCBHC Qualifying Encounter code. The check box is automatically selected when the charge is saved. Set Up CCBHC SIM Codes

To track charges in NextGen® Enterprise PM for Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) services, an option must be enabled in the Service Items library for each SIM code. Access File Maintenance. Select Libraries, and then Service Items. The Service Items List window opens. Double-click to open the desired library. The Service Item Library Maintenance window opens. In the Search field on the left, enter all or part of the CCBHC SIM code. From the list on the left, select the CCBHC code. In the Qualifying Encounter field on the General tab, select the CCBHC Qualifying Encounter check box. Note: The check box is available for selection only if the CCBHC Qualifying Encounter option is enabled in Practice Preferences > Encounters. To save changes and close the window, select OK. Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics (CCBHC)

Behavioral Health practices that participate in the federal Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) program may be required to track and report patient encounters when specific CCBHC services are rendered. There are nine types of CCBHC services that might be performed in either a clinic setting or a non-clinic setting, such as a home, prison, or an outreach program to homeless populations. Encounter Maintenance - Encounter Specifics Tab

The Encounter Specifics tab displays when one or both of the following are enabled in Practice Preferences > Encounter: Encounter Specific User Defined Fields CCBHC Qualifying Encounter The Encounter Specifics tab includes the following fields: Field Description User Defined Fields: Encounter Specific 1–50 Up to fifty additional encounter-level custom fields can be created in User Defined Fields in the Encounters preferences under Practice Preferences. Enter a caption or label for one or more of the Encounter Specific 1-50 fields. Users can then make free text entries in these custom fields on an encounter. CCBHC Qualifying Encounter Select this check box to indicate the encounter includes a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) service and should be flagged as an encounter that qualifies for CCBHC reporting purposes. If the encounter has a charge for a SIM code that is flagged as a CCBHC Qualifying Encounter code in the Service Items Library, then this check box is auto

Qualifying Encounter Report

The Qualifying Encounter report allows health centers to view encounters that are flagged as qualifying encounters. The report is a modified version of Charges report (daily report). It shows the number of qualifying encounters for the selected date range. Qualifying encounters are those that have at least one charge for a SIM code that is flagged as Qualifying Encounter in SIM library (Service Item Library Maintenance > Payer tab). Encounters are flagged as qualifying encounter on the Encounter Maintenance > Claims tab as soon as a qualifying charge is added. Note: This report is not intended to match or be a substitute for the reports generated in NextGen® UDS Reporting. To access the report in NextGen® Enterprise PM, select the Reports menu and select Health Center and then select Qualifying Encounter.
