Receivable Analysis by Month Report

The Receivable Collections Analysis by Month report dynamically identifies the reporting periods that you specify on the Filter 1 tab for the report. There will always be a current month to date period and a ‘Prior To’ periods on the report. The application places the unapplied dollar amount in the current (0-30) bucket.

For this report, the net receivables amount balances to the total AR. The revenue and transaction data report for the last twelve months balances to the regular reports for any given period. The column ‘Net’ matches the Accounts Receivable total of other standard AR reports.

You can choose to include or to exclude unapplied transactions. If unapplied transactions are included, then add the unapplied amount to the Net field under the thirteenth category that rolls-up everything older than one year.

To access the report in NextGen® Enterprise PM, select the Reports menu and select Accounts Receivable, then select Receivable Analysis, and then select By Month.

From the Report Filter window, select the Info button to view the following information about the report:

Logic:
  • Results are based on the Process Date of the charges.
  • All transactions captured within the process date parameters set in Filter 1 are reported in the same month as their associated charges; allowing for a net collection calculation.
  • Charges report against the current primary payer/financial class on the encounter.
  • Transactions report against the actual payer/financial class of the transaction.
  • The Section column allows you to separate encounters that are currently in a Bad Debt status from active accounts receivable.
  • The Rendering physician and the Location Filters are based on the rendering/location on the actual charge, not on the encounter.
Filtering Info:
  • When using this report to evaluate bad debt balances, Unapplied credits should be excluded in Filter 1.
Common Uses:
  • Evaluate and compare charges and associated transactions by month.
