Print or Export an Individual Encounter Collection Letter

An individual Demand Encounter collection letter is generated for a guarantor from the Patient Chart, Encounters tab.

  1. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM.
  2. Select Chart.
    The Patient Lookup window opens.
  3. Enter search criteria to locate the desired patient.
  4. Select Find.
    All existing persons and patients that match the search criteria are displayed in the Matching Records section.
  5. In the Matching Records list, double-click the patient.
    The Patient Chart window opens.
  6. Select the Encounters tab, and then open the desired encounter from the Encounters list.
  7. Do one of the following:
    • From the main toolbar, select the Letters button.
    • From the Tasks menu, select Demand, and then Demand Letter.
    The Demand Letters window opens.
  8. Right-click the desired encounter letter and select one of the following from the menu:
    • To preview the letter on the window, select Preview.
    • To print the letter, select Print.
    • To create an ASCII export file and to send it to the third-party vendor for processing (printing and mailing), select Export.
    A confirmation message appears stating that the letters are printed or exported correctly.
  9. If the letter printed or exported correctly, select Yes.
    The system updates the following on the Patient Chart.
    • The Last Letter Date field is updated on the Chart, Patient Information tab, Chart Details sub-tab.
    • A Demand Encounter Letter Printed or Exported significant event is recorded under History on the Chart, Clinical History/Notes tab.
  10. To close the window, select Close.
