Import Practice-level Master Files

In File Maintenance, select Master Files > System > PM > Payers, and select the applicable payer. On the Modify Practice Information window, selectS the Import tab. Select the practice from which you want to import information, in the Choose Practice to import data from field. To select data to import in the Choose Data to import list, do one of the following: Enable the Master File Type check box. This option selects all of the data types for import. Enable the check boxes for the data types you want to import. Dunning Messages – This option is automatically selected if you select Practice Preferences. Groups – Location information is not imported. Letters – This option is automatically selected when you select Practice Preferences. Marketing Plans Patient Statuses Practice Access Payer Practice Access Provider Practice Payers – Imports all practice payers. You can import individual practice payers from the payer master file. Import a Practice Payer into a Practice

The Import Practice Payer feature enables you to copy practice-specific data from one practice into another practice. You must be logged into the practice that you want to import into. The copied data includes practice access information and information from the Practice tab. If a practice already has payer information, importing overwrites any payer data that may already be in the practice. One situation in which you might want to import a practice payer is when you have created a new practice and you want to add payer information that already exists. Instead of manually re-entering all the existing payer practice information, you can simply import it from a payer and only modify the fields as needed. Practices Master File

The Practices master file enables you to set up practices within your enterprise. For accounting purposes, each practice should have a unique tax ID number. If you have two or more practices with the same tax ID, they should be combined into one practice with several service locations. After you setup your practices, you can: Share appropriate information across multiple practices. Easily maintain stored data. Create useful reports. Compare data across practices. Ensure patient privacy and confidentiality. How Practices Relate to Enterprises A practice can only belong to one enterprise. When you create a practice, it is created in the enterprise you are logged into. To create a practice in a different enterprise than the one you are logged into, you must either log into the enterprise or select that enterprise before you create the practice. This process is important because for a new installation, you may have created a new enterprise. However, you cannot log into that enterprise unti

Programs Master File

The Programs master file enables you to create various programs that your practice participates in, and to define system-level and practice-level requirements for each program. System-level information applies to all practices participating in the program and may include SIM code, diagnosis code, provider credential and patient age limitations that must be met for services to qualify under the program. Practice-level information applies to a specific practice only and may include warning messages to alert users when an encounter or charge does not meet all program requirements, and payer-specific threshold rules that must be met before billing for services under the program.
