To generate a
Statement Exception
report, do the following:
Open
NextGen® Enterprise PM
.
Select
File > Print Forms > Statements
.
The
Statement Options
window opens.
From the options window, select the
Check for Statement Exceptions
check box.
Do one of the following:
To preview the statements, select
Preview
.
To print the statements, select
Print
.
To export the statements, select
Export
.
If one or more statement exceptions are found, the following prompt appears:
Exceptions Found. Would you like to view the report now?
Do one of the following:
To view the
Statement Exceptions
report without previewing, printing or exporting the statements, select
Yes
.
The
Statement Exceptions
report is generated and displays on the screen.
To preview, print or export the statements without viewing the
Statement Exceptions
report, select
No
.
The statements are generated.

Generate a Statement Exceptions Report
To generate a Statement Exception report, do the following: Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. Select File > Print Forms > Statements. The Statement Options window opens. From the options window, select the Check for Statement Exceptions check box. Do one of the following: To preview the statements, select Preview. To print the statements, select Print. Statement Exceptions Report
When generating batch statements or an individual demand statement, if the Check for Statement Exceptions check box is selected on the Statement Options window, and one or more exceptions are found, a Statement Exceptions report is generated after selecting the Preview, Print or Export button. From the report, you can review the accounts and encounters that have exceptions prior to printing or exporting the statements. The Check for Statement Exceptions process looks for and identifies the following: Encounters with charges that do not have a rendering provider. Encounters with charges that have an expired SIM code. Accounts with a $0.00 patient balance. Accounts with an account-level or encounter-level unapplied credit. Generate a Statement Run Report
To generate a Statement Run report before printing or exporting batch statements, do the following: Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. From the File menu, select Print Forms, and then Statements. The Statement Options window opens. The default settings on the Statement Options > General tab are from pre-defined settings in Practice Preferences > Statements. Exporting Statements
You can export statements to create ASCII files that are sent to a third-party vendor for processing (printing and mailing). Both individual demand statements and batch statements can be exported. You must work closely with your statement processing vendor to ensure export files are created in NextGen® Enterprise PM and formatted using the appropriate data Delimiter and Text Qualifier required by the vendor. These must be defined in Practice Preferences > Forms > Export Options. Note: If you are using NextGen® EDI statement services, ensure to set the export options in Practice Preferences > Forms: Delimiter = <comma> and Text Qualifier = “. Export Statements to an ASCII File You can export statements to an ASCII file. Sending Statements to Other NextGen Applications You can configure a shared network path in System Administration to send statements to other NextGen® applications.
