Service Unit Authorization Report

The Service Unit Authorization report in NextGen® Enterprise PM enables you to review and monitor patients with service unit authorizations to determine whether they have met or exceeded the maximum number of packaged services authorized by their insurance, and whether those services were provided within the time frame authorized by the payer. You can also use the report to determine if patients with upcoming appointments are nearing their service limit so an authorization for additional units or days can be requested and obtained from their insurance. This encounter-based report is available only if a Service Package Library is selected in Practice Preferences > Libraries. Components of the Filter Options Window

The following table lists the fields in the Filter Options window with their descriptions. Filter Description Rendering Physician Displays encounters with a specific rendering physician on the Encounter Maintenance window. Encounter Location Displays encounters with a specific service location on the Encounter Maintenance window. Primary Payer Displays encounters with a specific primary payer on the Encounter Insurance Selection window. Encounter Status Displays encounters with a specific encounter status. You can select one or more of the following: Bad Debt Billed History In Progress Rebill Unbilled Self Balance Displays encounters with a specific pat amount balance in balance control. You can select one of the following and then enter the balance amount. Equals Not Equals Greater Than Less Than Patient Type Displays encounters with a specific patient type on the Encounter Maintenance window. You can select one or more patient types. Column Filters in Service Item Summary - Transaction Source Report

Use the following parameters in the Filter 1 section to filter the data on the report: Charge Create Date: Include charges with a Create Date within a date range. Charge Process Date: Include charges with a Process Date within a date range. Charge Service Date: Include charges with a Service Date within a date range. Outsource Date: Include line items outsourced within a date range. Transaction Post Date: Include transactions with a Post Date within a date range. Transaction Process Date: Include transactions with a Process Date within a date range. Transaction Date: Include transactions with a Transaction Date within a date range. Charge Type: Include/exclude charges by type. Select Encounter and/or Invoice. Unposted Transactions: Include/exclude unposted transactions. Select either Only or Exclude (default). Selecting Provider Data for a Report

Select Provider from the Report Filter Settings List. The Provider Filter window opens. Provider Filter Select the Rendering, Referral or Primary Care Provider from the list. If necessary, select to display the Provider Search window. Provider Search Enter a pertinent Last and/or First Name as a search criterion. Select Search. Select the desired Provider's. If necessary, select to Exclude Existing NextMD Providers. Select OK. The Provider's name displays in the Provider Filter window. Select the Location from the list, if necessary. If necessary, select to display the Location Search window. Location Search Enter a pertinent Name, Address, City, State or Zip Code as a search criterion. Select Search. Select the desired locations. Select OK. Note: If the Limit EHR reporting to only preferred locations check box has been selected in System Administrator for your specific User ID, only your preferred locations display.
