Setting Report Columns and Filters

All reports have columns and filters that you can use to customize the report data and format. You can modify the reports by: Adding and removing columns. Selecting different sorting and grouping orders. Selecting new ways of totaling the columns. Modifying the criteria used for each report that you generate, such as specific date ranges for a rendering provider. Because each report generates different information, the filter criteria available to you depends on the report you are creating. After you have modified a report filter to fit your needs, you can memorize it so you can run the report at another time. To open the Report Filter window, do one of the following: Select a report from the Reports menu. If a report is already open, select the Report Filter toolbar button. Report Toolbar

After a report generates and appears on screen, a report toolbar displays across the top of the report window. The toolbar buttons can be used to perform a variety of actions and functions when working with a report in NextGen® Enterprise PM. Display Report Definitions

You can include report definitions, such as column and filter selections, on the printed output for a report in NextGen® Enterprise PM. This enables you to refer to the report definitions if you need to recreate a previously printed report. Note: Report filter definitions are also included on reports that are exported to Excel. Access the Report Filter window. Select Head/Foot. The Customize Report Header/Footer window opens. In the Miscellaneous Options section, select the Report Filter Definition check box. To save changes and close the window, select OK. From the Settings List, select columns, filters, and sorting for the report and then select OK. The report generates and appears on screen. From the report toolbar, select Print Preview . The Preview [Report Name] window opens. To view the report filter definition, scroll to the last page of the report. You can display useful information about a report prior to generating the report in NextGen® Enterprise PM.
