Transaction Detail	Final total should balance to the sum of Daily Adjustments, Payments and Refunds Final total should balance to the sum of the transaction columns in the Transaction Summary report. Select specific Transaction codes and balance to the corresponding column from the Transactions Summary report. Or, balance to the daily transaction reports.
Aging Analysis By Encounter	Aging Analysis By Line Item, Account Summary, Insurance Detail, Insurance Summary. Run the report for the previous month end using the Process Date. Run the Daily Charges, Adjustments, Payments and Refunds for the current month. Add the totals together. Then, run this report for the current month end; the totals should balance.

Balancing Reports

You can balance reports to each other to periodically balance charges, adjustments, payments, and accounts receivable. You must use the same filter criteria when balancing two reports. If using dates, you must use the same type of dates (for example, charge posting vs. charge create) and the same date ranges. Transactions by Line Item Summary Report

The Transactions be Line Item Summary report breaks each rendering provider's transaction into adjustments, payments, and refunds. It also shows the extended charge amount for each provider. It is sorted by practice, location name, and rendering provider. Totals are for count (how many of each) of each transaction type (adjustment, payment, refund), and total dollars for each transaction type, with a subtotal for each rendering provider, subtotal for each location and grand total of all locations for each practice. NextGen Healthcare recommends that you only choose one of the Filter 1 charge date ranges (create date, process date, or service date), and only one (if any) transaction-type date to generate a meaningful report. The counts and totals for adjustments, payments and refunds in the Transaction Summary report should balance to the Transaction Summary With Transaction Code report. Daily Reports

The Daily reports provide the ability to run reports with full detail. These reports have “drill-down” functionality that enables you to double-click on a record to view or edit its details. The daily Adjustments, Payments, and Refunds reports can be generated By Encounter or By Line Item. These options relate to how the Financial Class and Payer information logic works on the reports. By Encounter: Charges and transactions are attributed to the primary payer on the encounter. For example, if a patient has Medicare primary and Blue Cross secondary, then charges are reported as Medicare, and all transactions posted against those charges are also reported as Medicare. By Line Item: Charges are attributed to the primary payer on the encounter, and transactions are attributed to the actual payer. For example, if a patient has Medicare primary and Blue Cross secondary, then charges are reported as Medicare, all Medicare transactions are reported as Medicare, and all Blue Cross transactions

Column Filters in Service Item Summary - Transaction Source Report

Use the following parameters in the Filter 1 section to filter the data on the report: Charge Create Date: Include charges with a Create Date within a date range. Charge Process Date: Include charges with a Process Date within a date range. Charge Service Date: Include charges with a Service Date within a date range. Outsource Date: Include line items outsourced within a date range. Transaction Post Date: Include transactions with a Post Date within a date range. Transactions by Encounter Summary Report

The Transactions by Encounter Summary report is a report identifying the primary payer of the encounter as the payer for the transaction. The primary payer attached to the encounter displays on the report regardless of the actual payer. To access the report in NextGen® Enterprise PM, select the Reports menu and select Monthly, then select Transactions, then select By Encounter, and then select Summary. From the Report Filter window, select the Info button to view the following information about the report: Logic: Charges and Transactions display under the primary payer/financial class on the encounter. Charges are reported based on the dates specified in Filter 1. Transactions are reported based on the dates specified in Filter 1, regardless of when the associated charge was processed. Account and Budget payments/adjustments will report under an ‘Unknown’ payer/financial class. If no line item data is selected in the columns tab, the report will ‘roll up’ to the highest level.
