Create Form Templates from XML Files

To avoid creating all form templates from scratch, you can create them by importing an XML formatted file into the Form Template master file. The file must be an XML document in Form Template format. To share form templates with others, you can export existing form templates to XML files. Importing and exporting are helpful when you need to share forms with external sources. For example, if another NextGen Healthcare client creates a form template that you want to use, the other client can export it to XML and send it to you. You can then import the XML into the Form Templates master file.
  1. To import an XML file:
    1. On the Form Template List window, select Open Menu , and then select Import.
      The Open window opens.

    2. Select the .xml file, and then select Open.
The Save Form Template window opens.

    3. Enter a new name for the template, and then select OK.
The new templates displays on the Form Template List window.
  2. To export a template:
    1. On the Form Template List window, select a template, select Open Menu , and then select Export. You can also right-click on the selected template, and then select Export.
      The Save As window opens.

    2. Navigate to the location where you want to save the exported file, and then select OK.
