Default User Prefs - Locations

You can select default preferred locations for all users that the user preference is assigned to. In all the location lists in NextGen® Enterprise PM, the preferred locations display above the non-preferred locations. If your practice has a lot of locations, then setting the preferred locations helps users to quickly select the locations they use most. The Locations tab displays only when you have more than one location set up for the practice. Note: You can use the System Administrator application to set the preferred locations for a specific user. To select preferred locations for a user: From the Master Files - Practice list, select Default User Prefs - Locations. The Default User Prefs - Locations List window opens. Do one of the following: To add a new item, select Open Menu , and then select New. To modify an existing item, select the item in the list, select Open Menu , and then select Open. Set User Preferences Rights

You can determine whether users can change their own User Preferences in NextGen® Enterprise PM. If these rights are enabled and you apply default user preferences to the users, then the users can change the preferences. If you disable the rights, the users are restricted from making changes. Open System Administrator. Select a group. On the Rights tab, select: Under OPERATIONS > Preferences > Location, set whether the users can access the location User Preferences to set up preferred locations. If this Operations right is turned off, then the Locations menu item in NextGen® Enterprise PM (under Admin > Preferences > User) is disabled. Under OPERATIONS > Preferences > Scheduling, set whether the users can access the scheduling User Preferences. If this Operations right is turned off, then the Scheduling menu item in NextGen® Enterprise PM (under Admin > Preferences > User) is disabled. Under OPERATIONS > Preferences > User, set whether the users can access the general User Preferences.

Default User Prefs

You can specify default user preferences settings in the Default User Prefs master files. After you apply the master files to individual users or to all users within a group, the settings become the default User Preferences in NextGen® Enterprise PM for those users. In addition, you can restrict users from changing the defaults. Assign User Preferences to Users and Groups

Open System Administrator. Select a group or a user. On the General tab: If you want to apply general user preferences, select a master file in the PM User Prefs - General field. If you want to apply scheduling user preferences, select a master file in the PM User Prefs - Scheduling field. Select Update. Any master files you selected disappears from the PM User Prefs fields because the master files have been applied to the associated users. User Preferences

User Preferences contain the: same list of preferences as Universal Preferences. However, user Preferences override Universal Preferences. For details about each of these preferences, see Universal Preferences. same fields that assign the NextGen® Enterprise PM User Prefs master files to the user that are on the Groups > General tab. Selections in these fields override any selections made previously on the Locations tab, at the group level, or at the user level in the NextGen® Enterprise PM User Preferences. Select the required user. Select the Preferences tab. In the list on the left side of the Preferences tab, select the folder you want to set up. The list on the right side updates to display all available preferences in the folder and any defined values. In the Preference column, double-click the preference you want to set up. NextGen® Enterprise PM User General Preferences Module

The PM User General Preferences module subgroup in the System Administrator application enables users to view, modify, and update: their own general User Preferences settings in NextGen® Enterprise PM. If the Access Rights are cleared, users can view the User Preferences but cannot save changes to them. the Default User Prefs - General master file in File Maintenance. Note: The right under Operations > Preferences > User controls whether the users can access the NextGen® Enterprise PM User Preferences. If the Operations right is turned off, then the NextGen® Enterprise PM menu item General (under PM > Admin menu > Preferences > User) is disabled.
