Assigning User Preferences to Users and Groups
When you apply a Default User Prefs master file at either the user or group level, they overwrite any previous settings. For example:
- If a user is in Group A and in Group B and you apply a Default User Prefs master file first to Group A and then apply a different Default User Prefs master file to Group B, the user will have the preferences applied to Group B.
- If individual users have already set up their User Preferences in NextGen® Enterprise PM, their settings are overwritten when you apply a Default User Prefs master file.
Applying the Default User Prefs master file only resets the preferences until the next time preference changes are saved. The settings are not retained, therefore, a user can change the default preferences in NextGen® Enterprise PM and the user-saved preferences will be saved. If necessary, you can modify the rights to prevent users from changing the User Preferences in NextGen® Enterprise PM.
