Alternate Type of Service Codes
You can use alternate type of service codes in the place of standard type of service codes for each payer by creating a library of alternate type of service codes, and then attaching the library to the payer. Appendix A: Alternate Type of Service Codes
You can create a library of Alternate Type of Service codes for each payer and attach the library to the payer at the payer level. The tables that follow outline certain payers and their Alternate Type of Service code values for paper claims. If you submit claims to these payers, you must create an Alternate Type of Service code library for those payers that use these values. Alternate Type of Service codes for electronic claims types are not explained here. Open Code Tables
Open File Maintenance. Select Code Tables. The Code Tables List window opens. Select a code table from the Code Table list. The list updates to display the codes in the selected code table. To open a code in the code table, double-click it. Parent topic: Code Table Descriptions

Manage Service Categories
In File Maintenance, you can add or remove the service items within a service category used for standing orders. Open the File Maintenance. In Master Files, click EHR under System. From EHR Master Files - System, click Service Categories. The Service Categories List window opens. In Service Categories List Search field, type the first few letters of the service category name. For detailed information about the naming conventions of service categories, see the Double-click the desired category in the search window to display the Modify Service Category Information window with a list of service items available in the service category. The Key column displays the Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) codes associated with the service category. The Service column lists the full description for the procedures. View Code Tables for Dental Billing
The Tooth, Surface, and Quadrant code tables in File Maintenance are preloaded with standardized codes and descriptions that are used to identify teeth, surfaces, and quadrants for dental services entered on the Charge Posting window in NextGen® Enterprise PM. Access File Maintenance. Select Code Tables. The Code Tables List window opens. Select a code table from the Code Table list. Items within the selected code table are displayed. Access the Service Code Mapping System Template
From the File menu, select System \ Practice Template. The Select Template window appears. In the Show section, select All to see a list of system templates. To access the Service Code Mapping template, do one of the following: Double-click Service Code Mapping. Select Service Code Mapping and then click OK. The Service Code Mapping template appears.
