Tax Rate Library
The Tax Rate library defines a sales tax rate that is used to automatically calculate and post taxes for specified charges entered into NextGen® Enterprise PM. Once the tax is calculated for a charge, it displays as a separate line item in the Charge Posting window. Tax charges will then display on claims and be present in patient statements. You can define the tax rate percentage according to the location, payer, or SIM used. Most taxes will be at the encounter level and display one line item with the entire tax due for the encounter. However, depending on the payer being billed, the taxes can be applied at the line item level where each charge has its own tax line item.
