Reports Practice Preferences Field and Descriptions
The following table provides descriptions of the fields located in the Reports Practice Preferences.
Field | Description |
---|---|
Report Server | Select the report types that you want to run through the Report Server. You must have NextGen Report Server set up in order to view the list and use this feature. You will not be able to run the selected reports in NextGen® Enterprise PM. |
Generate from Report Server/ When report Filter1 exceeds __ days | Select this check box if you want the practice to use the report server as the data source for large production reports. This option allows reports to be run quicker without network lag. In addition, you must enter the number of days to indicate the limit threshold. The number of days cannot be blank. Any report date run over the entered number of days automatically uses the Report Server as its data source and the report will be titled "Report Server". |
Default External Charge Import Agent | Select this option to set the DocuScan agent to whatever you want and still be able to run the DocuScan report. If this field is blank, the default used will be DocuScan File Import. |
Line Wrap Text | Select this option to wrap information in a report column to the next line when all the information does not fit on a single line. If this check box is not selected, an ellipsis ( ...) prints at the end of the line when the information does not fit on the line. |
Show Practice Title | Select this option to automatically select the Practice Title check box on the Customize Report/Footer window. The practice name then displays in the header of all applicable reports. |
Large Report Options | If your practice runs large reports, set the following preferences:
Large Report Bypass to CSV File – Select this check box to send large reports to a .csv file instead of displaying them on screen. Setting this preference can prevent out of memory errors that can occur with large reports.
Report Limit Before Bypass field – enter the maximum number of rows allowed to display in a report on screen. Reports that exceed the limit are sent to a .csv file. For example, say you run a report that returns 75,000 rows and causes an out of memory error. You can set the Practice Preference for large report bypass to 70,000. Now when you run the report again, the report reroutes to a ,csv export file, which is far less memory intensive than returning the report to the screen. |
Apply report type security to reports menu only | Select this check box to apply report type security to only reports accessible from the Reports menu. Users will still be able to run memorized reports. When the check box is not selected, all reports allowed by the security rights can be run. For example, if users belong to a group that does not have the operations-level security right for Daily reports, they cannot run Daily reports. However, if the Apply Report Type Security to Only Reports Menu check box is selected, they can still run memorized Daily reports. |
Prompt when report limited by preferred locations | Select this check box if you want a message to display in NextGen® Enterprise PM each time a user runs a memorized report that has more locations selected than what the user has access to. The message states that the report data is filtered to the user's preferred location settings. For example, if the user runs a memorized report that uses five locations but the user has access to only two of them, the message displays and the report contains data for the two preferred locations. The message displays in NextGen® Enterprise PM when the Limit PM reporting to only preferred locations check box is selected. In NextGen® Enterprise EHR, the message is automatic and cannot be disabled. |
Use enhanced reporting with paging | Select this check box to activate a new report paging mechanism that improves system performance when generating data intensive reports in NextGen® Enterprise PM. A new user interface is enabled that replaces the legacy Report Filter window for reports selected in the Enhanced Reports Selection field below. |
Maximum records to display on screen | This field is available only when the Enhanced reporting with paging option is activated. Select the maximum number of data records to display on the screen per page when an enhanced report is generated in NextGen® Enterprise PM. The default value is 25. |
Enhanced Reports Selection | This field is available only when the Enhanced reporting with paging option is activated. Select the reports that will use the enhanced reporting functionality in NextGen® Enterprise PM. Select or deselect reports individually, or right-click and choose Select All or Deselect All from the menu.
